To Smackdown:
Jeff Hardy (Raw)

Triple H (Raw)

Triple H brings with him the WWE Championship which is now Smackdown exclusive.

To ECW:
Matt Hardy (Smackdown)

Hardy brings with him the United States Championship which is now ECW exclusive.

I'm imagine that there will be a "correction" on Sunday's Night of Champions. Batista will bring the World Title to Raw or John Cena will bring the WWE title back to Raw.

They haven't attempted to correct for the fact that ECW will now be taped before Raw instead of Smackdown at all.

Holy shit, HHH at Smackdown? Are things so bad there?
Also, what channel did Smackdown end up moving to? USA?

^MyNetwork TV or whatever it's called.

Note that there has been no mention of a supplemental draft or trades or anything to correct this. I can only think that this is legit and both shows are either swapping titles or something else is going to happen to get one of the world titles off of Smackdown.

On thinking about it, they've set up CM Punk to cash in and grab one of the titles for Raw.

Yeah, money in the bank briefcase thing would be the easiest thing to do.
But jeez, I still can't believe HHH moving to Smackdown. Yikes.

They've been a bit inconsistent about this. Last year, Bobby Lashley got drafted and was stripped of the ECW title.

Then Edge (from Raw) used the Money in the Bank contract on the Undertaker and when he won the title he became a Smackdown guy.

^Yes, sort of, it exists for when NBC really don't have anything else to show. They are contractually obliged to do four a year.

The thing is, WWE's roster is huge. Scaling that down to one show would put a lot of wrestlers out of work.

As it stands, ECW is taped before Smackdown or it airs live directly afterwards which is why it's easy for ECW guys to appear on Smackdown and vice versa. In TV terms, Vickie Guerrero and Armando Estrada made a deal.

However, WWE Heat has now been canceled (yes it was still going as an internet show and to fulfill foreign TV commitments) and ECW will move to being recorded before Raw on Mondays. My guess was that Miz and Morrison would lose the tag titles to Finlay and Hornswoggle (as much as I hate this idea) so they would be kept on Smackdown.

With Matt Hardy moving to ECW I don't know where this leaves things.

As much as it would suck to have wrestlers lose their jobs, it just dilutes the whole talent pool. I can't imagine RAW would have been all that good in the 90s if Stone Cold was on one show and The Rock was on another.
Maybe Vince really needs that WCW to crush... TNA doesn't seem to be offering much competition... other than kicking RAW off Spike.

I am more upset they split up JR and Jerry. They are a TEAM.

That is just inconceivable to me.

The whole "Generic Wrestler X goes to another "brand" " schtick is pointless because they seem to appear on each other's shows ALL the damned time anyway. It is ridiculous now. The whole draft thing is pretty pointless.

But JR and The King........that just SUCKS.

What the hell? Really? Why would they do that?
God, maybe it's a good thing that I don't watch wrestling anymore. :p

Exactly. I'm more shocked about this than any other of the other "surprises".

^It is not clear whether or not they knew in advance. They usually don't. J.R. apparently looked absolutely crushed when it was announced.

Look at the bright side, at least Raw didn't get Mike Adamle - look out, The Tazz! It's the Samoan Bulldog!

^ To be honest, I wouldn't have minded if they had drafted both J.R. and Lawler to retirement. Both have become incredibly stale in my opinion, but maybe both will profit when they have new counterparts.

Trips drafted to Smackdown? Never thought I would see that, hasn't he stated in the past he never would work on Tuesdays? :D

^I think there will be more storylines and angles to come out of this since there was an additional "event" last night.

As Vince was giving out money again the stage collapsed on him and he was "seriously injured". People apparently kept calling for "Paul", which most are assuming means Paul Levesque, aka Triple H.

Or Paul London. ;)

^He was grinning when the limo blew up last time.

As it stands, I predict that Batista will win the World Heavyweight Championship on Sunday and bring it to Raw. I don't think they want John Cena as champion for now.

Big Show beating Kane would bring the ECW title to Smackdown, not ECW, since Show is an Smackdown guy.

Matt Hardy vs Chavo Guerrero is complicated. Chavo is technically an ECW guy so him beating Hardy for the title means nothing to the belt's status, but he appears on Smackdown more as a member of La Familia.

It is interesting that no Divas have switched brands. I was expecting Michelle McCool to move to Raw due to her, apparent, recent popularity. (There was a silly thing on WWE.com where Joey Styles went to interview her but didn't ask her any questions, he just told her that putting her on the site makes their traffic go up and walked away leaving her dumbfounded)

The only one I predicted was Umaga to Smackdown. There were strong rumours yesterday that John Cena was going to Smackdown but that did not happen.

Holy crap, I totally forgot that they "killed" Vince... that was around the whole Chris Benoit thing, right?

Yeah, the Raw they showed the Benoit tribute they later apologized for, was planned as a "tribute show to Mr. McMahon".
