20 Days with no 360

RROD finally caught up with me and this thursday MR UPS man takes my 360 away to be taken to FRANKFURT, GERMANY to be repaired for up to 20 days :(

20 days of no 360...Has anyone else here had similar experience, does it take them normally all 20 days to fix it and send it you back ???

Got to print off the shipping label tommorow and slap it on my package, the fuckers better not lose it :shifty:

Pray for me that I last 20 days

I don't want to say it, but I've been lucky so far. 2 odd years with my 360 and no RROD yet. But it's starting to show signs of it :(.

Do you have to go... outside?

Day 17

Life continues, but at what cost? The body may yet be nourished, but what of the soul? I walk a path with no form or substance, I fear I shan't walk it much further.

Man, if my 360 were to drop the red rings bomb on the eve of Ghostbusters, I don't think I'd be able to survive without choking at least one, possibly two bitches.

Grab a wii, play through punch out, take mario kart online, those 20 days will fly by in no time.

We are gathered here today to pay our final respects to...

Bill Gates before I show an apple in his mouth and my foot up his arse ;)

:( my poor 360.

Lucky that this weekend me n 2 friends are having what we like to call Wii60 nights though less 360 this time . Thats 2 days to keep me busy ;)

I was pretty in to playing GH2 when my first 360 died, I had to go to a store display at Futureshop once or twice to calm the shakes.

I had just purchased WaW and poof-RROD/E74. Called it in, printed label-and stopped by Best Buy after work and bought an Arcade version. No way I was sitting out COD5 for a month!:scream: 5 days later my replacement box shows up.:shifty:

And yes, of course I couldn't find the receipt for the new one!

First, yes it does take about that long to get back. Even if they actually replace the whole thing with a brand new one (which they did for me once).

When my 2nd X-Box died I hardcore cheated so that I wouldn't be without it.

I went to a store that had a 30-day return policy bought a new one took great care in opening and removing the console ONLY from the box and used it for the 20 days I waited on mine to come back. Then took the other one back to the store for a refund and claimed "I only took it out of the box once and never hooked it up."

Dishonest? Maybe but I was so pissed about having to put up with that shit for a second time I didn't care.

Got my 360 back today and wow that was quick because I never got an e-mail stating it was even fixed well its not really...They have given me a new console with a brand new warranty to go with it and the standard 1 month free top up of my LIVE account ;)

Got to admit Microsoft have handled this really well and you can tell they have had a lot of experience with RROD consoles :p but there customer support was top notch. New console with a much better chipset (2.5 years better) is great IMO.

any idea what chipset there on now ? or what was the last one cause it could be either.

On the bright side, 20 days is twice as much time as one needs to play through every decent game in the Wii library. :p

Mine died last year the first time I put GTA IV into it. I rang up their support, which is apparently in Estonia so there was a bit of a language problem, and asked them to email me the labels. Nothing. I rang back a few days later and I got through to a very scared sounding young woman who said she'd send out labels through the post this time. Nothing. A few days later I ring back again, it turns out that the scared lady didn't bother to put through the dispatch order for the label and this new guy offered to email them to me again. It turns out that they misheard me when I spelled out my email address the first time and he corrected it and I received the labels that night and had it sent away the next day.

I think it only took 5 days for it to get back to me at that point, but it could be because they put me on a priority list after my awful experience with the phone support.

My brother went through a similar experience one of the three times he sent his 360 back (he bought the console at launch and boy did he pay!)

Glad mine was easier, I have to admit probably best customer support I've ever had to go through but I will say when I rang up the two ladies I spoke to where so quiet and good english in terms of grammar but accent was a little hard to follow sometimes.

It sounds like you had a pretty good experience compared to mine. My turnaround was always closer to four weeks.

I'm probably about due for another RROD. I've had a 360 die in mid-summer in 2008 and 2007.

I guess I got it sooner because they gave me a new console instead of repairign and shipping back my old one.

They just sent me a new console too. I was hoping I'd get a console with HDMI output the second time, but alas.

Either way, my current 360 is running strong. Maybe Microsoft has actually addressed the manufacturing flaw.
