I guess everyone was watching the Oscars but there was also a new Amazing Race tonight. It was a very good episode even though the high winds failed the roadblock. I really liked Mel and Mike tonight, mainly for that scene about devine intervention. It was kinda cool.

Nice to see the Hillbilly's gone. They were annoying and Linda came across as really stupid in this episode.

My timer didn't work, so I just saw the last 20 minutes of this one. I'll watch the rest online.

I wish those bloody stewardesses would get eliminated ...

Good episode but hardly surprising. I fully expected the elimination to go as it did.

Southern Germany and Austria has to be amongst the most beautiful places on earth. I'm afraid of heights (well falling more than heights) but the paraglide would have been incredible.

There had better be a choke point coming up because the teams are really spread out time wise.

Yeah, hardly surprising. I would have prefered to see the flight attendants eliminated. They have come across as very stupid. I thought that being flight attendants they would be much more prepared...

Well there ya go, the rednecks finally got eliminated, I knew they had to be next. I LOL'd at the girls actually picking up a big log to try and cut it lol.

Overall this episode was a little average, the tasks were not challenging.

I agree with pretty much everyone here.

I'm curious how the producers even let the rednecks on the show. They were never going to be very successful at the race.

I'm glad Mel's gamble paid off and he and Mike are still in it.

No surprise that the Rednecks were eliminated. I kind of wonder, though: Had they not finished last, would they have received a penalty for when Mama Redneck hitched a ride after getting lost on the way down the mountain?

Yeah, that was pretty good. Granted, it was probably harder to find your way around once it got dark, but those flight attendents are, um, pretty flighty.

An hour run at that altitude not challenging?

Agreed. I think it was mentioned that they were at 6000 ft. I've seen people winded after walking a few flights of stairs when they arrive in Denver (5280 ft).

They didn't have to run, they could have waited and done the other one which was an easy task. Anyway, the walk down was all downhill, so.... again, not really that hard. The tasks were pretty easy.

Yeah, the tasks weren't all that difficult. I would have walked down the mountain, too - but they didn't have to do that at all. They were all just terrified of being left behind and getting eliminated, and wanted to have the feeling of some sort of control of their fate.

The Rednecks - oh, geez! I swear I thought there was a danger of a flash flood with all the blubbering going on. Get a grip, people. Pull yourselves together. Made me think of that scene in "Airplane" where the people are lined up to slap, punch, and beat on the hysterical woman.

The Flight Attendants. I'm deeply ashamed to call these two dim bulbs former colleagues in the industry. Though I can't say I'm totally surprised either. Just like anything else, there are really sharp folks and some morons in the FA world. These two are definitely a bit on the slow side.

Go ahead. Do it. I'll wait.

And the wind wasn't changing. ALL of the others there had gone long before the wind changed. Tick tock.

I'm even later than usual seeing this one, thanks to an exhausting day at work yesterday.

Thought the episode was pretty decent, but I usually find this part of a season to be the least interesting, while you're waiting for the weak teams to disappear and the stronger ones to be in more danger.

That said, I hope the stuntmen improve their showing next week. They weren't in any real danger, but still, I like them.

Stereotypical Asian team? Check!

Cheerleaders PLUS Flight Attendants? Yes!

They really just need to do a season with teams of sisters who are cheerleading flight attendants. Ratings would skyrocket. :p

It was a great episode, I'm looking forward to this new season.:techman:

I'm just being hypersensitive.

First it was the overbearing father and weepy daughter, now it's the overbearing brother and weepy sister. If you watch any "Chinatown" episode of any TV show, those are the two character types you'll always see.

I mean, art imitates life and all that... but it's still kind of annoying to see a stereotype personified.
