1/350 TOS Destroyer Bash. With Lights!!

Great work. :)

I like the placement of the dish recessed into the saucer. The drawings of ships with the dish on an extension always looked like an afterthought to me. Too easy to take out with a phaser shot or torpedo.

The single nacelle design isn't a favorite for me, though. I thought that it was mandated in early design notes that a Starfleet ship had to have two nacelles. I know it was negated onscreen later, but it just looks odd (!) to me.

Still, that's some nice work.

As someone else mentioned somewhere (I've posted this on many boards), one imagines that the deflector/sensor dish must have a certain amount of machinery behind it to make it work. Hanging it on a stick doesn't really make a lot of sense.

As for the 2-nacelle rule, wasn't that something Roddenberry came up with after the fact to try to discredit the tech manual designs?

That's the first time I've seen anyone take video that looked even close to the TOS lights. (Mind you I haven't looked at that much of the work that has been done with the 1/350.)

I used the stock lighting kit, so everyone else's should look like that with minor variations. The big differences would be in how people prepare the inside of the dome. I put crinkled aluminum foil in mine. Some people put nothing, some people put mirror shards like the real thing had...
