hey it's low budget. 11 years in production & post production.
I love the wide battle scenes and the space scenes. The smaller spaceships remind me of the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica ships & cockpits.

Well I'm German and I tend to hate German movies, but I'll try to keep an open mind

(German sci fi had its moments, to be fair.)

Edit: Wait, did you see that blatant AT-ST rip-off?

This goes into what I call the "uncanny valley" of low budget movies and fan films. It's like with robots that look like humans but there's just that subtle difference that makes them totally creepy. This one looks better than the average production of this sort, but it's just not good enough to be compared to a "proper" movie, so it's pretty much unwatchable for me.

    AT-ST?

Confused. Would you please spell out what your initials stand for and post a link for a reference?

I was referring to the All Terrain Scout Transport known from Star Wars ;)

Edit: Wait, are you pulling my leg? If so, I applaud your successful trolling attempt :D

More like a Battletech meets Stargate rip-off.

Aha. at 2:07 in the trailer. You are right.
No I wasn't fooling. I'm not a Star Wars fan.
I only own SW:TPM (1999) due to the great The Beginning: Making Episode I documentary (66 mins) on disc 2. It's just a great documentary made from 600 hours of footage without any interviews or added narration.
