Fantastic idea!

I would still love to see what your design looks like with megaphasers. Perhaps an earlier/original version with the megaphasers and phaser turrets, and maybe this can be the upgraded version with the newer enhancements.

I agree. I also like the flat/wide secondary hull, just as it is illustrated in the original poster. Most "redesigns" of the Alaska class involve "rounding out" the secondary hull.

Actually, I like the idea of vice-versa as well. Gives us an Alaska-class "variant" to enjoy! Great way to build on the Alaska-class legacy.

Yes! I love the front & side views. If we could get the top view to truly match, that would be great. There have been several “interpretations”, but no one has yet to simply correct the top view.

Great idea! I've been hoping to get the Alaska-class "out there". Aside from shipschematics, it's practically non-existent.

I agree 100%. I have always loved the Ambassador class. Anytime someone can take that basic ship, and then "add their distinctiveness to" the design, I'm onboard. In addition to the Balmung, perhaps the Niagara, and even the Apollo class I've seen. And the Apollo has several versions of it...

I took a few pics of my poster, but it just didn't come out very well at all. With all of us limited to the small resolution that shipschematics has graciously provided over the years, I'd really like to improve on that image. Hope to get that done locally, and quickly. =j=
