I WISH this happened. It had so much potential. I will say that they did an amazing job considering they had roughly 7 hrs a screen time with this cast vs the 79 ep and 6 movies TOS got.
I know I'll get heat for this but a pre TOS Kirk show. I don't like Wesley but I would love the story. If they didn't want to do TOS Kirk then get different actors again and have a AOS show (I know those actors are all still around but no way could paramount afford them)
If Kirk was played by a different actor I'd fine ok with it but I can't get behind Wesley. His Kirk is very well written but he was mis casted which is weird considering how spot on they were with the rest of the cast.
I really didn't like this at all. Yes, it was done well but there was one thing I wanted to never be made canon and that was the spock/saavik relationship. In a romantic sense, the father daughter relationship was fine. I'm choosing to interpret this all as a hallucination.
Oh, and no more of those short treks. With the exception of 'Holograms all the way down' I was literally cringing as I watched them.
edit: yes I meant very short treks
So I know this would be hard to do money wise (actors are expensive) but since it looks like we aren't getting AOS ST 4 I want an ep where spock (and ideally Kirk but that would be harder since Kirk isn't part of the crew yet) switch places. Or even just show up.
A lot of things people say they don't like I'm actually ok with, like mirrorvirse ep or show, time travel, other dimensions ect. I'm even ok with making trek more dystopian (not full on) but less utopian.
Just off the top of my head I wouldn't want the writers to do the following story lines...
I was thinking this too, Maybe before this scene he was saying he could control their emotion for all of them. But that still doesn't mean their personalities would be different. they would know spock is sensitive about his biology and wouldn't bring up the half Vulcan thing. Unless they are...
How do the writers keep messing this up?? First spock became emotional when human when he should have had an easier time controlling it and now. If anything the 4 of them should have been more like romulans since they are the ones who don't suppress. It's not a hard concept.
Also, some of this...
