It can absolutely be a cultural thing. For instance I didn't find Fawlty Towers funny as a kid, I just didn't get the British humor. Today it is one of my favorite shows of all time. That was after being exposed to several other British comedies and eventually giving Fawlty Towers another try.

I have to admit that as soon as I read about the upcoming musical episode, I cringed a little bit. I'm not a fan of musicals. But considering how well this show has been made so far, I trust that it will be in good taste, and will of course give it a shot.

I asked this in another thread, but does anyone know if the current writer's strike has any effect on LD season 5/animation in general?

This has probably been addressed elsewhere, but does the current strike affect animation at all? Or will Season 5 of LD not be affected by this?

I follow Elon Musk on Twitter and on literally every single one of his Tweets since January, this one guy loudly proclaims that he is leaving Twitter immediately because Elon has ruined it. It's been over 3 months of him doing this and he still manages to bait hundreds of people into replying...

Considering they want each show to represent something different, and considering there isn't a show directed at young adults yet (maybe Lower Decks?), that's probably exactly what this is.

I feel like the Orville did this for season 3. Many episodes (or all of them?) were almost like mini movies... 60-80 minutes each.

It's gonna be like getting an extra half episode of Lower Decks this year. 10.5 episodes in 2023!

No real surprise, but it still made my day to see this being officially confirmed. At least we know there will be more than one live action Trek show in 2024 now. :techman:
