His brother would have bias, both positive and negative. Plus, he knows the 'real' Jim Kirk. This alt-Kirk was possibly reigning himself in a little in the presence of Pike, who he'd at least know by reputation.

I admit there's little or no physical or vocal resemblance between Wesley and Shatner (or Pine). But given a few episodes appearing in the role, it'd be interesting to see if he becomes more accepted. I'd like to see him do that wry sort of grin Shatner did in the role; that'd sell it to me...
