    Worf's Winningest Season

Aye, I definitely toyed with counting that as a draw. It's certainly one of those rare cases where they don't take the opportunity to lay him flat on his ass! :) Oh my goodness, that's made my Friday!

    Worf's Winningest Season

It doesn't count as a loss unless Michael Dorn ends up lying on the floor - which I guess could happen after a poker loss, but I'm pretty sure we never see that happen! :klingon:

    Worf's Winningest Season

Sorry if it's not clear! Short version: Worf gets the crap beaten out of him in so many episodes. But - very rarely! - he wins. So for each season, we can track his score in wins versus loses. For season one, I made it Worf 1, Aliens 4. For season two, I make it Worf 2, Aliens 1. That would mean...

    Worf's Winningest Season

Dear TrekBBS folks, I'm coming up to "Q Who" on WAMTNG next week (Wednesday 29th March), and in writing up the WAM I somehow missed that Worf defeats the first Borg to appear on the Enterprise-D. Correcting this oversight, I make it that his score for season 2 is Worf 2, Aliens 1 (counting the...

    Security Forcefield

Brilliant! That has to be the earliest appearance... I think we may have the entire lineage now. Thanks to everyone throwing in on this one - much appreciated!

    Security Forcefield

There is indeed a forcefield at the entrance to the brig in Heart of Glory! It's not quite the same as having it in the corridors, but this is would appear to be an earlier appearance in at least one sense - many thanks!

    Security Forcefield

Greetings TNG folks! Does anyone know of any earlier appearance of the Security Forcefield in the Enterprise-D's corridors than season 3's "The Bonding"...? I feel like might be one, but I'm drawing a blank.

    Favorite DS9 one-liners?

Well, whether this is a one-liner depends upon how you punctuate it(!) but this is probably my favourite comment in the whole of DS9: "The only real question is whether you believe in the legend of Davy Crockett or not - if you do, then there should be no doubt in your mind that he died a hero's...

    Some Season 2 Snippets...

Hey folks, Working on about a dozen WAMs (see my sig) in season two at the moment, and I thought I'd launch a distress buoy for a few issues. Can anyone help with these? 1. Volcano! In "Pen Pals", there are two shots with a volcano, one erupting, one without. This has to be a little studio...

    Trek Wars: Tormé vs Hurley

Aye, but Hurley axed McFadden and/or McFadden left at the end of season one/start of season two. It's a plausible hypothesis that Berman's gaining power forced Hurley out, but the only voiced opinions we have single out a conflict with Roddenberry. But perhaps Thread Creep is right that the...

    Trek Wars: Tormé vs Hurley

Thanks for this account. I well believe "Conspiracy" was an issue, but I find it hard to believe that Hurley stuck out a whole year after this. I mean, maybe he didn't want to step down at the point he was getting his promotion - and maybe he wanted to see through the arcs he was working on...

    Trek Wars: Tormé vs Hurley

Many thanks for continuing the speculation everyone! I don't think this one is going to ever be settled definitively, but I'm enjoying digging in the sand with y'all! :) I'd love to see this, but I don't use YouTube on principle. I wonder if there's another way to source it...? You're quite...

    Trek Wars: Tormé vs Hurley

Thanks for wading in on this folks! Some rebuttal and further leads... I never would have thought of this as a candidate, but I appreciate the intriguing way your mind is working! But I think this was very much inside Roddenberry's vision, to be honest, and I can rule this out because what...

    Trek Wars: Tormé vs Hurley

Hey there knowledgeable-and-friendly Trek folks! I am deep into the WAMs for season two now, which is going reasonably smoothly, while still making final edits and tweaks to the WAMs for the back end of season one, which are running now - Home Soil goes out this Wednesday. (Oh, and if you don't...

    The Other Picard Manoeuvre...

Brilliant! Thanks for this. I somehow missed your reply earlier, but it is greatly appreciated.

The Straleb Ship in "The Outrageous Okona"

Love that you can draw this inference! :D I'm going to bake that into the WAM and give you a thanks for it. Very nice piece of reasoning!

The Straleb Ship in "The Outrageous Okona"

Thanks, although sadly I'd already been to Ex Astris Scientia (my first port of call for this sort of thing!). They don't seem to know who built it, and I cannot find it in any of my other resources (although some of my reference books are 3,000 miles away right now, alas...).

The Straleb Ship in "The Outrageous Okona"

Hey folks, Been very busy with my consultancy work, but have been slowly making progress in my research for the season two WAMs, which will start before the end of the year (although I'm still editing the WAMs for the second half of season one... much to do!). However, this week I've been...

    The Other Picard Manoeuvre...

Oh you're quite right. I really like "Timescape" too. I tend to look down on season 5 (must be the sparkly opening credits!), so I probably mentally transplanted "Cause and Effect" into my preferred season as an act of gross prejudice. :)

Episode you think is better than you remembered

Ha ha ha! Aye, you get to see a whole three nipples in that episode - one of Riker's, and both of Picard's. I guess that does count for something!
