I appreciate the discussion and ideas you guys have brought up! Shows I need to start working on the internals / systems to answer some of the questions. Thoughts below...
Yes - confirmed. I'd like to keep it all to real world scale so that the designs are plausible and work with canon sets...
Wanted to share some quick updates on this! Would have shared yesterday but I was at this party in Montana... Some drunk old guy kept trying to play Roy Orbison on his jukebox for his weird friends with pointy ears...
Haven't gotten to work on this much recently but here's some progress I've...
sorry about that (what’s not on aws these days lol) - hope it comes back up soon. Any recommendations for alternative hosting are welcome imgur is just convenient
@Rekkert has it done if memory serves – they probably just didn’t want to clog the UI with 3 separate 1701-Ds (we had like 6 versions of her bridge live in Stage 9 at the end) in this initial release. Given the content of the Regeneration video, I’m sure we’ll see the Generations bridge again...
The Tech Manual states that it is sublight, but the tech manual also gets the yacht's size completely wrong. When we scale the yacht off of the 1701-D model/blueprints and compare the yacht to other known shuttle or aux craft types, it just doesn't make any sense for it to not have warp...
Here's a quick flyover test - not sure if GIFs work on the board or not tho so YMMV
Thanks! Re: windows - that's just an artistic choice. Kind of a 'think like a set designer' sort of concession. I also like how open it makes things for setting up shots, flythroughs, etc. without glare. In...
Thanks - that's really nice of you to say. It's been really fun for me to see it come into focus over several (dozen) iterations as well while the whole TNG aesthetic has been sort-of coming back into vogue...
Realized I didn't post any angles of the PHAT impulse engines - I wanted them to have...
Thanks brother! Much appreciated :)
The space whales are our boys in blue in Cetacean Ops! I figure every now and then it would be nice to let them get out and stretch their fins. I'd like to rough together the inside of the saucer yacht docking deck and cetacean ops to show how they interface...
A few more progress shots - what a finale, huh!?
She'll be almost ready to fly here soon - I have a few more details I want to button up and I want to stage the interior a little more. I'm also going to try and produce some 'slip sheets' to match the look of the ST:TNG Tech...
Astern, by the airlock, of course! We hope you enjoy the ambiance. Oh, and the Chateau Picard is complementary but please consider leaving a few strips of Gold-pressed Latinum for your bartender
Thanks! Yes, she's set up with 2 permanent levels and the airlock doubles as a lift / lockout chamber. The second level with the 'cupola' is intended as the command deck with the conn / helm control at that frontmost horseshoe. I had planned to outfit the 2nd level airlock alcove with some...
Hey y'all!
I was inspired by the new production art for Picard S2 and had a little fun doing a 'design sprint' to produce a mock-up for Calypso, the 1701-D captain's yacht. Thought you may enjoy seeing it!
Here's a link to an interactive presentation model of Calypso that you can check out...
