Spoilers Are the first two seasons of 'Picard' unnecessary?

He didn't like the decsision of Picard being a synth at all. But it saved Picard from being assimilated by Jack. ;-)

Spoilers Are the first two seasons of 'Picard' unnecessary?

Same. I found Season 1 of Discovery quite entertaining (for what it was - a reboot of the TOS era) and at least some of Season 2. But then it turned more and more into Burnham saves the Galaxy and the (constantly hugging and crying) crew of Discoverys lets her get away with everything.

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

At least the first two episodes (which he co-wrote with Goldsman and Monfette). Terry's task was to "help" Goldsman with Season 2. He was not the boss. That changed in season 3 where he even directed the last two episodes and oversaw the entire post production.

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

In an interview with trekmovie.com he said that he left season 2 after the early episodes to fully concentrate on season 3. He also said that he wanted to tell a more ambitious time travel story (which is his thing) but the other writers objected. He was clearly not in charge of season 2. The...

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

It closed decades old chapters (the Borg and Picard's familiy situation) and gave the TNG crew the send-off they deserved - the final (10 hour) TNG movie. That was the mission for this season - nothing more, nothing less. And I think it succeeded. It also setup a potential spinoff that can tell...

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

The probe is basically an allegory for human-made climate change/natural desasters. That's correct. It's always about the characters. But the character arcs should be connected to the plot in a logical and satisfying way. I don't think that was the case in Season 2 (multiple characters and...

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

It was never supposed to be part of season 3 that's why it should have been resolved in Season 2. I guess time and budget didn't allow for more. The same reason why we got a copy-and-paste-fleet in Season 1.

Spoilers Did Picard finally ''right the ship'' with Picard season 3?

Was season 3 a mystery box? What mysteries remain unsolved? After Episode 9 everything was resolved and explained. Season 2 on the other hand had a giant mystery box...the anomaly/transwarp conduit. We still don't know what it is and what its purpose was. It was just a tool to get people...

News Brent Spiner Returned for "Picard" (and you could do the CGI better in 15 minutes, we get it)

And that's the important part. They did not just resurrect Data, they turned him into a (synthetic) human. So he can finally be the person he always wanted to be.

News Brent Spiner Returned for "Picard" (and you could do the CGI better in 15 minutes, we get it)

Season 1 had its flaws bit It's wonderful that it gave you so many emotions! Nobody can take that away from you!

News Brent Spiner Returned for "Picard" (and you could do the CGI better in 15 minutes, we get it)

Data looks so good in Season 3! Older, yes...but much more accurate than the de-aged version from Season 1. Even his hairline is perfect (it's a grey hairpiece, his real hair is thinner). :-)

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

The Borg Queen was clearly in need of a doctor. ;-)

Off topic: It's the insurance system then.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

Yes and that statement is also true for most fans I guess. We never knew that we wanted Picard to have a son until this season.

I would love so the a serious Anime version of Trek.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

I agree. It was not supposed to reinvent Star Trek or to deal with new philosphical problems. It's the 5th TNG movie that gave Picard and his former crew the final send-off. And even the Enterprise D got a final send-off that we never expected.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

Is it? A lot of people can probably connect to the family theme of this season. The Rikers dealing with the loss of their son, Picard finding out that he is a father, Jack looking for connection... When Jack said to Seven: "Stars in the same galaxy but lighyears between us." I felt a genuine...

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

I think watching it as a whole will make it more enjoyable. This is the final mission of the TNG crew. I didn't expect it to be groundbreakingly new SciFi. It just had to give the TNG crew the emotional send-off they deserved. And I think they accomplished that. But I think the season would...

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 3x10 - "The Last Generation"

Maybe it was mentioned before but why is Crusher called Admiral when she is clearly just a Commodore? Maybe for the same reason I am called "The Commander" although I'm still a Lieutenant. :-P
