It's $150. Not a bad price for a 15 inch model that FULLY lights up (including windows). To my knowledge, this is the first time we've had a Kelvin Enterprise replica like this (that is already put together and fiber optic)...
I also found it strange that in Lower Decks the characters speak in current day slang. I know it's a lighthearted comedic show but when you hear people in other NuTrek shows speaking normally it really doesn't seem to make much sense to me.
I just finished watching it (I would've watched it earlier than today but I heard it was really really bad so I wasn't in any rush to watch it since I had other DVRd shows to catch up on) and I just want to say, I don't consider it a Star Trek movie. I don't consider it a long Trek 1-off...
Oh yes, I remember X-Files being SO popular that they had X-Files conventions! You never hear of any conventions simply for just ONE show. The only other show that I know of to have its very own convention was TOS in 1972 (the very first Star Trek convention).
I'm glad we got Picard season 3...
Yup, a lot of people who weren't alive back then don't realize just how popular TNG was when it was on the air. It was the only Trek show (other than TOS) that reached mainstream popularity. At its height it was a pop culture phenomenon! Non-Trekkies were watching it in droves and for that time...
I remember that! I also remember that "Journey's End" behind-the-scenes special that aired that very same day (also hosted by Frakes who finally answered the long-asked question "Where are the bathrooms on the Enterprise-D?").
It wasn't just any series finale. It was an event!
It was such a huge event that I remember a number of sports arenas across the US showing it on their jumbotrons with packed crowds! I cannot recall any other TV shows' series finale being that huge.
I also remember local news stations doing...
I always really liked TNG's "Encounter at Farpoint parts 1 and 2". OK, so there was some bad acting in it (I'm looking at you Marina Sirtis and Wil Wheaton lol) but that wasn't the actors' fault really because the actors didn't really know their characters yet. The episode does a great job at...
I asked ChatGPT to draw what TOS era Borg (and a Borg cube) might look like if Gene Roddenberry had decided to have the Borg on TOS. I was impressed with what it came up with.
Borg cube:
Borg drone (I don't know why it actually says "Star Trek" on his chest but when I asked for it to draw me...
I've had the game for years on PC but always played it with just a mouse & keyboard since the makers of the game came out with a patch for non-VR players to play it. I always liked it despite M&K controls being somewhat cumbersome to use.
I got a Meta Quest 3 VR headset recently and finally...
In Star Trek Into Darkness, when Spock does a mind meld with a dying Christopher Pike, I always thought it was rather cold and callous of Spock to do that to a dying (and suffering) man just to experience what he was feeling. But is it possible that one of the goals of said mind meld was to...
For the Enterprise-D, I wonder why CBS didn't just hire the Stage 9 creators to finish the project (instead of sending them a C&D). Oh what could've been. I would've gladly paid money for a fully explorable Enterprise-D!
