NFL Offseason '14: Wake me up when minicamps start

Same concept as Flacco, Cutler, and Romo getting their monster contracts.... they's nothing overly amazing, but someone else will overpay that player if their current team doesn't.

    Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth

Jake Solomon, one of the big developers for Firaxis, just said on his Twitter account, "Our next game at Firaxis is Civilization: Beyond Earth. Inspired by Alpha Centauri, it's finally time to go back." I'm excited. I enjoyed Civ V, but Alpha Centauri always had a special place for me...

NFL Offseason '14: Wake me up when minicamps start

I haven't been a huge fan of Denver's free agency campaign this year. They signed some pretty good players, but it seems like it was a ton of money on very few players who don't even really fill positions of need. With that said, this video made it all worth it...

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

I wouldn't even necessarily go so far as to say that Seattle's gameplan was to let Manning have free reign of the short zone- that's just all Manning had time to do! If he tried to let anything develop beyond a screen or short route, he would get destroyed by the rushing defenders.

I know- I was the one who posted the article and that was my point. ;)

Apparently the difference between "very good" and "special" is the ability to single-handedly win games in spite of what the rest of the team might be doing.

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

Manning completed 70% of his passes. The first INT was an ugly ball that floated, but the other two turnovers were him getting hit as he threw/attempted to throw. It wasn't Manning's fault the defense allowed a score on every drive but one. It wasn't Manning's fault that they allowed the kickoff...

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

I expect the Broncos to win with a score similar to their two playoff games (24-17 and 26-16). Seattle's defense will absolutely slow down Denver's offense- no way they'll be scoring 40 or 50 points. But Denver has too many legitimate targets to be stopped completely and they'll put some points...

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

While it could have been interesting to see if Tebow could have picked anything up from Manning, it was best that they sent him off. Nobody knew the condition of Manning, but you just know that the fans would have been calling for Tebow after the first rough game. Also, Tebow would have made a...

If a small shove like that is enough to send Sherman off the deep end (throwing the choking sign around, going full psycho in the interview, and spending the rest of the evening insulting "mediocre" Crabtree), he must have some pretty damn thin skin. For the amount of talking he does, I would...

^I think he may have been actually been talking about the Philly/Detroit game this year. They tried the first PAT conversion in that game and then completely gave up on it from that point on.

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

I'm kind of indifferent to the idea of killing the PAT, but the proposed idea just seems like it's over-complicating the issue.

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

At this stage, I'm not sure I'm going to buy any of the stories until something comes directly from Sherman... that's the third different (and most extreme) version of the charity event incident I've read the last few days. I've also heard that he just said "something" to Sherman and that the...

Yep, that's right... no knock downs/sacks and he's only been hit once (or maybe only once each game, but no more than that).

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

Let's look at this logically for a second... there's no doubt that Welker was used in a pick/rub play. But the idea that he was used to take Talib out? Why would you use your midget who already has 2 concussions on the year as the human torpedo? If it's a malicious play with intent to take...

Sherman is an arrogant little shit, isn't he? I hope Manning makes him look like a damn fool in two weeks.

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

I'm betting you're talking about this article/ I thought it was a very interesting read as well. That is about as crappy luck as any team or QB can have on a regular basis. I'm extremely happy about Denver moving on! When the the Chargers managed to pull it back to within one score, I was...

    NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

I did alright... 3 of the 4 teams I was rooting for moved on. I wanted the Colts and Bengals to win because I really didn't want Denver to see the Chiefs or Chargers. It's always tough to beat a team three times in a year (Chiefs) and the Chargers always seem to have Denver's number. In the...
