Turbolift mazes inside empty starships! LOL!!!

That's so funny, because I remember when they were the most hated guys in Trek fandom, especially around here.

    RIP Tony Todd

    Lucky bastard.

"Farragut Forward" is back on (and soon the "Starship Farragut" finale "Homecoming")

I've never seen a Farragut production but I watched Farragut Forward today and it was pretty good. I appreciated how they were able to convey the basic character relationships and what was going on without resorting to clunky exposition dumps.

Spoilers Section 31 General Discussion Thread

Even though I'm over 40, I'm pretty mellow when it comes to new Star Trek. I don't expect everything to neatly fit into a cohesive "canon" and I'm more than happy to embrace new styles and different takes on the Trek universe. Or at least ignore them if they're not my thing. But this . . . To...

    Favorite Author

Diane Duane. Favorite work of hers is "The Wounded Sky", which is the finest pure Star Trek story ever told in any medium.

    Superman

The new suit looks very New 52, but if you look very closely it does appear to have the red trunks. It's fine but I really wish we could just get the classic suit. Brandon Routh's Crisis on Infinite Earths suit was PERFECT. Just make the black areas of the shield yellow/gold.

CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar 2 - Electric Boogaloo-Fanboys gone WILD-too many hyphens

The production values are better than most fan films, but it's just a space battle scene without any other context than "Klingon War". It's fine for what it is, but the people saying this is "real" Star Trek are the same clowns who think that TOS was never "woke".

    Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

John Logan was a fan, but nobody else was. Director Stuart Baird didn't even know what Star Trek was and couldn't even be bothered to learn the actors' names (he kept calling Levar Burton "Laverne") Rick Berman never understood Star Trek and was the primary force behind trying to copy The Wrath...

    Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

I think that if people have a contempt for the source material, and view it cynically as an exercise in scamming money from idiots, then it's reflected in the work.

    Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

I think it's important for the people who make a movie, TV show, book, or whatever to actually like and understand the source material, and if they don't then the work isn't very enjoyable. For example, the people who made Nemesis clearly didn't like TNG and were cynically trying to rip off The...

    Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

Well, I was only expressing my personal feelings about the relative enjoyability of the third season compared to the first two, not making an absolute judgement as to it's quality or telling other people that their opinion should be the same as mine. Plenty of folks enjoy things that are...

    Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

My ranking: Picard Season 3 Tommy Wiseau's The Room The films of Zack Snyder Picard Season 1 The entire filmography of Neil Breen Picard Season 2 For me, the big difference between Season 3 and the other two was that it seems to have been made by people who actually like Star Trek: The Next...

CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar 2 - Electric Boogaloo-Fanboys gone WILD-too many hyphens

Axanar took advantage of a fallow period when not much Star Trek was being produced by the studio. Since then we've had multiple seasons of Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks, plus a handful of Short Treks and a season of Prodigy. Even if Alec and his little friends managed...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x09 - "Subspace Rhapsody"

I loved this episode. 25 years ago I would've been in the "this is ruining Star Trek" crowd, but time goes by and we grow up (most of us do, anyway). Musicals aren't everyone's thing, and it's okay. But I sincerely hope that the people throwing Internet tantrums because something they don't like...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x09 - "Subspace Rhapsody"

Unlike Cats, this episode is guaranteed not to have a "butthole cut".

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x09 - "Subspace Rhapsody"

That was great! How can you not like something with the phrase "Spock-bop-a-loo-bop-a-Spock-bam-boom" in it?

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2x03 - "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow"

Wait, the DTI agents travel through time to repair the timeline when needed, and they carry a pocket-sized time machine with a light that turns red when the timeline is wrong and green when it's been fixed. So . . . is Voyagers! a Star Trek show now?

Could they have gotten rid of Tasha Yar without killing her off?

Marina Sirtis has said that one of the higher-ups (Rick Berman, maybe) told her that she would've been fired from the show if Denise Crosby hadn't left because the producers felt that the cast had "too many women" in it. Roddenberry was mentally unstable and prone to bouts of raging misogyny at...

Shatnerverse (TOS/TNG): The Return by William Shatner (and the Reeves-Stevens) Review Thread

Yes. Another interesting parallel between Picard Season 3 and "The Return".

Shatnerverse (TOS/TNG): The Return by William Shatner (and the Reeves-Stevens) Review Thread

That was my favorite part of Star Trek: Armada 2—you could combine 8 Borg cubes into a Fusion Cube. Or even better, you could do it with Tactical Cubes and make a Tactical Fusion Cube.
