A common complaint I hear from toy collectors is that they don't want to get started buying a new set of figures (e.g. the first/only wave from Playmates) if they don't know that they'll be able to finish the set. My thought is that Playmates should try selling box sets that contain whole...
Star Wars as a franchise tends to be a lot more toyetic and approachable by kids. Star Trek tends to be mostly humans wearing the same clothes and ships that are generally the same shape.
From the Diviner's description, the Vau N'Akat were an arrogant race. First contact shook their world view and resulted in a civil war. Presumably, they were on the verge of warp travel. So if Starfleet hadn't made first contact, somebody else would have soon, and the result probably would...
Prodigy will probably have a whole separate launch because it is aimed at kids, while these are more adult-nostalgia based.
The whole toy market is very different than it was 30 years ago. There's a much large adult collector market now. That said, these figures are a weird in-between. Kids...
Sorry, no Prodigy toys in today's announcement.

These figures are better than I'd hoped. Close to the 90s scale but with improved articulation. Hopefully close enough in size that they'll blend reasonably well.
I hope they sell well enough that the line will keep going for a while.
Has Janeway not touched anything before now? I assumed she was hard light, but I can't actually remember her affecting a physical object. So maybe that was an erroneous assumption.
It's pretty clear to me now that Janeway really is just a training advisor. Anything else is out of her...
With regards to the current location of the Protostar, see this interview with writer Aaron J. Waltke:

That means they're pretty close to the center of the galaxy. Star...
The DS9 finale and Rom's ascension to Grand Nagus were in 2375, 8 years before Prodigy. 8 years is a fair amount of time for Nandi to establish herself, even if she wasn't breaking Ferengi law before then. Although she certainly doesn't seem like the type to subjugate herself to men.
I don't...
Zero has a natural scientific curiosity and aptitude, so he slid easily into the role of science officer. Jankom was recruited specifically for his engineering skills. Rok-Tahk naturally has the physical stature to be the muscle, and she's too young and naive to have really developed any other...
That was a dense episode. The Kobayashi Maru test was fun, but it also deepened the mystery of the Protostar itself and whatever Murf is.
The varying quality of the archive dialog was a bit distracting, but given the purpose of it, I don't mind.
It was great to hear new dialog from Gates...
I'm 44 years old and don't have any kids and I loved it. It's a really fun action/adventure story that doesn't talk down to its audience. It demonstrates a good lesson about judging people by their appearances, but it isn't preachy about it. The animation and voice acting are excellent.
I...
I think a 32nd century setting is the most interesting. The fact that they would be rebuilding Starfleet and the Federation would be a good hook.
I've also wondered if Adira and Gray might be the leads for such a series.
