Thanks for the feedback :) Will probably model a stand and print in PLA. I know a lot of folks do them out of wood to save on printing time and filament but I'm far too lazy and inexperienced for woodwork.

Big update: Ever being the perfectionist, I rebuilt the entire engineering section again. Just wasn't happy with the shape. It's all just detailing to do now. Lots of detailing! Edit: Forgot to add, the main reason for remodelling the secondary hull is that I realised the saucer was way too...

Another great design, I like the swing wing idea. Always though trek needed more moving parts like Voyager's nacelles

I know what you mean, textures can take something away from these 'clay' renders. That said, I plan to make maps for this even though this is for 3d print. Some more details added and joined the nacelles to the main hull. Really enjoying making this ship :)

Thanks for your nice words folks. Got a bit more work done. The lower part of the secondary hull became just as frustrating as the neck. 4 rebuilds! Not like the nice easy chamfer-box nacelles that took around 10 mins! Still tons of detail to flesh out yet but generally pleased with the layout

Yeah I used some artistic license there as I felt that the sensor dome being offset forward from everything else would look a little off. I might revisit it later but the skew angle of the neck is modelled off side profiles Atolm sent me. Once the basic shapes are in I'll have a play with the...

I know what you mean. The engineering hull will be 'interesting' to build, as will be the stand the printed model will sit on

Another project I simply had to start (because I'm very impatient). Always been a fan of Atolm's designs and this one is no exception. Again this will be another model specifically for 3D printing. The neck was excruciating to model and took 3 attempts :brickwall: Atolm's original design:

Now you mention it, it does have a Nubian look to it :)

Some more details added and some refinements. Have added the pulse phasers to a more inboard position than the original.

Just adding my two peneth to this thread, but I've subscribed to this kit and overall it's not too bad so far. I do agree on the lack of interior though but I plan to 3D print some custom parts including the main shuttle bay but we'll see how it goes. I will say though the way you have to add...

I agree, it seems to serve no logical purpose. I'll still build a version with it for nostalgia's sake so I can have a model of it on my desk

Basic shape for the nacelles added and a few other refinements. Lots of mesh errors but these will be picked up at the end with manual optimisation.

I believe MayemUK who drew the original design, based it on the B5 Whitestar but I agree it does have a strong Romulan characteristic about it. The redesign I'll be doing here will hopefully give it a much stronger fed appearance, possibly doing away with the roll bar.
