It should have been cancelled after two seasons and the money allocated towards more for the other shows. And a few episodes of budget to 4k restore DS9 and Voyager on a one season per year basis staggered between each show and shown on Paramount+ and other streaming services worldwide years...
I friggin' WISH Ken Russell made Exorcist II. That would've been absolutely BONKERS. I like how nobody noticed this error. Is poor Ken that forgotten these days that a forum full of pedants lets this pass?
Seems really stale and dated at this point, I'd let a younger generation take a crack at it with a new reboot without those huge salaries. Make something energetic and more in fitting with the times. No need to go backwards and dig up the corpse to see if it can still fit into a Starfleet...
It's not an issue of "legality," it's to take advantage of he cast and crew by pretending they aren't separate seasons for contractual purposes. It's a standard TV production trick.

So when does Jeffrey Combs get a feature as The Question? Oh man, that'd be a hoot. Or a super-trippy b&w Mr. A that goes all...
It was alright, should've just made a show about dystopian police and race relations reflecting the current weirdness and passed on the Watchmen connections. That stuff was fun to spot I guess but almost unnecessary frosting. I'm sure HBO would've backed a project like this from Lindelof without...
Which would be a fun trick to pull off now considering Bad Robot's new half billion dollar exclusive deal with WB. I think contractually they can only fulfill existing commitments like Rise of Skywalker.
There hasn't actually been a deal signed for a 4th film right? It was just an idea kicking...
