Late to this party, but here's my thoughts on this. It is both: A cynical cash-grab to get people to subscribe in off months between DSC seasons. A cool concept and I look forward to watching them..........all at once before the DSC season proper airs.

TOS - "The Doomsday Machine" Goddamn what a great episode! So exciting. They just ratchet up the tension right from the start and don't let up. It's so good. Also noticed on this viewing the similarities to the ST09 plot. Never realized that before.

Just realized it's the windows that make the D look like a cruise ship.

They were so charitable and giving back then. All you had to do was ask nicely.

Ain't nothing wrong with just a good old-fashioned villain. And I think Klingons in TOS were great villains.

I'm gonna go TOS/TOS films on this one, just because seeing the arc of Klingon-Human relations from the TOS era through to the Khitomer Accords is one of the more interesting socio-political developments in the franchise, for my money. DS9 had some excellent individual Klingon characters but...

I bought every series on Blu-ray so none of Star Trek is canon anymore. Sorry, everyone.

I don't think Kirk's end is that sad. I think Kirk would've been more bummed to die really old and kinda useless. Instead, he got a hero's death and one more adventure. He had fun. And that's what matters.

I'm on the other side of that! Totally get Janeway's plight at the beginning of the series. I'd be racing headlong into coffee nebulae too. :beer:

What's up? I'm 6 episodes in to my first time with Voyager and so far it's really good. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The ship is gorgeous. Janeway is compelling. Great to be watching new Star Trek again.

Personally I think this particular starship has sailed. Fortunately there's still 3 seasons of TOS, 3ish seasons of TAS, and 6 TOS movies to take us back.

I fall on the "leave a classic alone" side of this line. That said, would totally love a Kelvin TOS series -- new stories but with the Kelvin crew in the Kelvin Timeline. Will never happen, but a man can dream.

Move Along Home. Love it. I kinda understand why people hate it, but I really enjoy it.
