I don't see how Ray having a free open house once a year has any effect on anyone else. James set look fantastic. Its not even close. Ray will never have the big Star Trek names to headline anything. I still think its more about the sets being built and used for STC than anything else.
True. Ray talked about the owner of the building in an interview and how that person was very nice and understanding. He also talked about the rental costs saying it was significantly less than what STC was paying.
The studio has no AC or heating which I suppose keeps the electric bill down but also limits the time of year when a Fan film can actually be shot. STC once said the rent for the whole building was 5K per month. Stage 9 has about 1/2 of the building now. From the interviews I have heard Ray do...
Unfortunately I agree. There is a problem because:
1. They were the sets that STC used. You cannot ignore the bad blood there.
2. They are "complete" sets unlike the ones in OK or wherever (those were flooded - not sure if they are back operational)
So if you want to make a Fan film you can schedule the sets in NY or your are just screwed? Also, I don't consider a 17 hour drive "less than a days drive" for a normal person. If Ray does not allow any fans to visit the sets but does let people make Fan films there is there still a problem?
Yes thanks Ray! I will never make it up to NY. It's just too far and this was a good way to show my wife the STC sets. I was a little disappointed in the new wall in Engineering. It takes away from the "grand" scale of it by not being able to step back and look at it. But, I understand and hats...
Very nice!
Merry Christmas, dear STC fans! Thousands of you have been asking for years if our series would ever be available on DVD & Blu-ray. Because there is significant cost in having discs and artwork pressed & packaged, it’s not feasible for us to make physical discs since we cannot sell...
Her Daughter that's why. Very nice touch.
Interesting how Michele said years ago in an interview that "The Enterprise Incident" was her favorite episode. Now we have the Romulan Commander in the final. Coincidence? I think not.
Absolutely. If you have been to any of the screenings at conventions or kept up with their FB posts you would know the nay sayers are in the super tiny small minority. Not saying they don't have some valid points, but the fans really like STC and for me it's like long lost TOS episodes. There...
I went back and watched part II again with some of the critique I have seen in mind. I have to say I just don't get it. Hats off to Vic and his team for a mission accomplished with little to no funds, super hard work, dedication, and a love of all things Star Trek. I think part II is one of...
They don't give a dam about the logistics of a "volunteer" production thousands of miles away from home for most of the people involved. It's just another way of hammering STC for fun.
I too expected a little more "drama" about McCoy's departure but then it reminded me of a lot of "end of tours" in the military where people just went their separate ways. It felt more like that and it worked for me.
