To those around when TNG first aired: what did you think of it?

Well, Here in ireland i first saw TNG on the BBC2 (we have access to the uk channels as well as our own domestic channels (RTE 1, RTE 2 (Network 2 as it was back then), around 1989/1990 or so. I hadn't really been a Star Trek fan up to that point although i was aware of its existence. TNG made...

Am I crazy for saying that TNG is the best show of ALL time of any TV show ever?

No you're not. I love TNG as well but i love all of Star Trek regardless.

Your favorite episode from every season?

so hard to choose but here we go: 1. Season 1: The Battle (HM: The Arsenal Of Freedom and Conspiracy). 2. Season 2: Where Silence Has Lease (HM: Time Squared, Q Who and Contagion.) A TNG Animated Series?

Definately. Having already watched Lower Decks and now Prodigy, I'd be very interested in seeing a TNG animated series. Thats if, the powers that be want to. I'm definately on board with the idea.

    Is Troi ethical?

The thing is, Troi doesn't read minds as such. What she does is sense emotions. That's not scanning anyone's brains so to speak. I don't think she'd be a parft of Starfleet if she was in any way unethical. Think about it. She's an officer on the flagship of the federation commanded by the most...

    Miles O'Brien?

That WAS Colm Meany and yes i believe that was O'Brien he just hadn't been given his first name yet. Don't forget he was an unnamed conn officer in EAF and was a semi-cast member at that point before he became an official supproting character.

Do you feel bad knowing Sam Kirk's fate?

yes kind of. He's a really good character and I'm really starting to hate the fact that the character will be killed. I don't really want him to be killed and it kind of sucks knowing he will be.

Blogger says being like Troi is one of the goals of his life

She didn't ask to be impregnated dude. Thats' a script that was orginally meant for what would have been star trek phase 2 in the 70s.

Spoilers The thing in bay 12

I absolutely loved this. I really missed the Enteprise-D and it was great to see her in aciton once again. If this is how the TNG-Era ends, I, for one, am completely happy with it. A 10/10 from me. Well done to everyone involved.  :luvlove:  :wah:

Blogger says being like Troi is one of the goals of his life

okay well this is a really strange one. I'm all for tolerance but this guy (and i'm assuming that it's a he here) doesn't seem to understand a lot of things here. Are they planning to wear tight dresses and jump suits, eat a lot of chocolate and wear headbands to work every day in their...

    Season 1

I have to strongly disagree. While Season 1 does have some seriously questionable eps. (e.g. Code Of Honour, Angel One, etc.) there's a lot more good episodes in season 1 (e.g. Conspiracy, The Neutral Zone) being just two examples of them than bad.

"Why the Enterprise-D Was Badly Designed"

yes i agree completely with that, I've always wondered why they weren't able to do that.

    TNG at 35!

I came to TNG when it started over here in the Ireland and the UK around the early 1990s (I think!). I remember renting VHS's of it frrom the local video store at the time and that combination with the aforementioned showing of it on TV at the time, got me hooked and have been a fan ever since...

    Top 10 TNG Episodes

For me it's as follows, 1). The best if both worlds 2) Yesterday's Enterprise 3) Relics 4) Family 5) Clues 6) Disaster 7) The Wounded 8) Timescape 9) The Pegasus 10) All Good Things +a perfect way to wrap up the series even though I hated it at the time). There's just too many great eps here to...

Which Doctor Did You Like Better...Dr. Crusher or Dr. Pulaski?

Crusher without question. Don't get me wrong I didn't actually mind Pulaski as she never bothered me. But Crusher, as established in EAF already knew Picard and requested to be on the Enterprise under Picard's command so, yes Crusher definately.

Which Doctor Did You Like Better...Dr. Crusher or Dr. Pulaski?

Crusher for sure. I mean lets be honest here. There were more plot and subplot threads involving her and Picard most notably. Don't get me wrong, I neevr had a personal issue with Pulaski but she didn't quite fit with the rest of the TNG crew.

Spoilers Star Trek: Picard 2x01 - "The Star Gazer"

Just say that episode a little earlier and absolutely loved it. Great start to the season. Great also to see the stargazer again, kind of. Great epiusode.

    Why was engineering walled off?

I'd say at a pure guess that it may very well have been down to budgetry constraints in the first season and only with the success of all of the subsequent seasons, maybe they had a little bit more money to spend on expanding that set. At least, that'd be my guess.
