Actually it's what created the fan base in the first-place. By saying this is "romanticizing the past" you are admitting that it did exist.
There is not a single episode of the Original Series that purposefully has a date outside of the 23rd century, and I don't know of one.
This would be an...
If you consider the context of my entire post, I am not saying there was not a single mistake, simply that there is a massive difference in terms of being able to keep the illusion of continuity in the previous series' versus now.
I didn't mention all the executives from TNG for instance but...
I'm aware of that but the Discovery lore in STO is actually not bad in comparison to the show itself. With that said it's pretty clear that the Discovery episodes were added because of the show and not to give sustenance to the lore that they had been working on for STO, but to promote the...
It was possible from 1966 to 2005, it just takes good oversight from producers who immerse themselves in every little detail. It doesn't mistakes wont happen, but the care to preserve the illusion of a united universe is there. That is what Rick Berman and Brannon Braga achieved after the...
A series that actually lines up with canon that Gene Roddenberry, Rick Berman and Brannon Braga which takes the lore of Star Trek Online and takes place 2409-2410 or stretched out further like 2409-2420. Then have three mini-series from that one that follows the Klingons, the Romulans, and the...
I don't understand why anybody would need more than a couple of tier 6 ships on STO but people keep buying more apparently. Probably just to get the traits mostly.
Each warp capable species has their own ships, they just aren’t shown nearly as much. It could be too that there so happens to be more human ships out there because of Starfleet putting so many resources into space explorations. The Vulcans for instance aren’t that interested in exploration, but...
To be clear I don't mean disrespect to Discovery, Strange New Worlds or Picard. I really enjoyed Picard (except for the 400 year gap with the borg) but I haven't gotten through Discovery and Strange New Worlds yet. I started off looking at what people have said about the continuity errors and...
I don't know if it's been brought up before in this long thread but I don't understand how Number One made the antibodies and through proximity gave them to La'an? The radiation from the warp core allowed for the antibodies to be transferred? That doesn't make sense.
True he did make a comment about regretting having a female yeomen, but even Kirk made the comment that he's not used to women being on the bridge if I'm remembering right. I don't expect the sexism to come through in a new series, I just expected the same characters. I looked more into it and I...
Really my complaint is that the cast is not the same as in the pilot of the original series. It seems like that cast was too masculine for the producers so they had to change it, which is disrespectful to canon. They don't have the right to re-write canon wherever they like for the sake of...
I'm just getting into Deep Space Nine, and I haven't seen Voyager yet, but I'm pretty sure any series is better than the reboot movie series. The original series will always be my favorite, but I do really like the amount of content in The Next Generation.
