    Paleontology

Lost World had the Bakker-inspired paleontologist who, like Dr. Bakker himself, fears snakes. So, when a snake jumps on him in the cave with the T-Rex sticking his head in, he starts jumping and dancing around and ends up in the Rex's mouth and gets snacked on! The one uncle I had that was...

    Paleontology

You were lucky to have an uncle like that, someone knowledgeable you could talk to about dinosaurs and an expert on it. I thought my father would get a dinosaur hunter license with me and we'd go out and find fossils like Dr. Alan Grant and Billy in JURASSIC PARK III, because Dad likes digging...

    Paleontology

No, I've not read that particular book, but palaeontologist Richard Fortey recommends a few books on the subject: https://fivebooks.com/best-books/richard-fortey-on-palaeontology/ As to birds being dinosaurs, that idea was fronted very early on, as I understand it, but because no wishbone had...

    Dune 2018 (19,20,21...)

Yeah, Leto's a cool character in the movies I've seen him in. He's being sent to Ix by his father to have adventures, which I'm just getting to ...

    Dune 2018 (19,20,21...)

"[Fans] rejoice in this chance to return to one of science fiction's most appealing futures." --The New York Times Book Review The fans may be rejoicing, but as I'm reading, here, I keep waiting for House Atreides to get good!

    New Species Revamps on DSC?

No wonder we never get to see the whole crew like this in STAR TREK, anymore ... they're damned ugly, most of them.

“Jean-Luc Picard is back”: will new Picard show eclipse Discovery?

It's interesting that The Shat wasn't tapped for a TV show, before or instead of Sir Patrick, considering that everyone knows he's the original Captain Kirk and he kept being passed over for cameos in the new Trek movies. Most probably still know him as The Big Giant Head.

News CBS AA talks future of Star Trek, will announce more series

It's great that CBS has finally seen the light, where STAR TREK is concerned. Every series should have its own flavour. As long as that happens, STAR TREK should do alright. I have great admiration for Rick Berman's notable accomplishment of keeping STAR TREK on the air for 20 years. He's still...

Who's going to appear in Picard's new show?

You're right, there -- on both counts!

Who's going to appear in Picard's new show?

... Agreed! Michelle Forbes was glad to leave TNG and, unlike the case with Denise Crosby, Forbes actually went on to a successful career in film and television. She doesn't even remember playing Ro, the last I heard. She has no memories of it ... that's how much of an impression her time on the...
