When exactly did Jadzia Dax reject Julian Bashir (since her first words to him here definitely not rejection)? Also, first interaction between Bashir

I took is as the classic American comes in and tries to take over, new green recruit who's never gone farther than a school trip to Washington in 9th grade is posted to a remote base in the middle of Africa, then proceeding to wax lyrical about how he's out in the wild in the middle of nowhere...

Widespread power outages are pretty dramatic

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I always remember a quote from Kirk about how he was taught, but once again I couldn't remember wher eit was from I asked ChatGPT It pointed me to this thread https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/kirk-quote.250237/ Where some idiot asked about this exact quote a decade ago, and @T'Ressa Dax...

    All things RED Dwarf

I do like Timeslides KRYTEN: We could go back to Dallas, in November 1963, stand on the grassy knoll and shout "Duck!" Then a few years later we find the boys were actually there. LISTER Well, come with us back to Dallas, November 1963, be a second gunman. The gunman behind the grassy knoll.

    Lore in "Brothers"

Some rights. Picard threatened Data with disassembled in Clues, and Data agreed that would happen. Measure of a man didn’t say data was alive, just that this specific instance should be allowed ti find out for himself. There’s no guarentee that applies to Lore.

Why was the USS Enterprise F decommissioned so early?

Federation mission changed from a relatively peaceful galaxy in the 2300-2350s when the emphasis was on exploration, and the Galaxy class was designed for that. The Borg, then Dominion, emphasised the need to boost the military part, needing more, smaller, powerfully armed ships, giving more...

    First contact in reverse

The abductions in "The 37s" would count to most of your requirements * humans from pre-2063 * randomly stranded on an alien planet * have to blend in a la "Carbon Creek" * Preserver abductions don't count The frozen humans didn't have to blend in, and the ones we saw the descendants of were...

Why was the USS Enterprise F decommissioned so early?

They wanted to include the F as a nod to Online. I believe the models also existed too. In universe I would assume the Obviously we have no evidence of what the F did during its service, any more than what we knew about the C and B pre YE/Generations (and we know very little even now). If...

China's 2000 Mile Solar Panel Highway

If you ignore the capital cost A normal south facing panel will generate 2/3rds the power for 1/3rd the cost, at least in terms of Watts available as DC However such small installations require a lot of microinverters which adds cost. In general that would be great - not just solar too, but...

China's 2000 Mile Solar Panel Highway

As a whole putting solar on stilts above a flat carpark is far cheaper per square metre than on top of a building - especially one two stories or more. No need for scaffolding, no complex roof issues, no load bearing issues. Just put up 3 metre high posts that you would to keep cars cool...

China's 2000 Mile Solar Panel Highway

Our office in Glasgow has those. I’ve seen some at Italian service stations too. Such an obvious thing to do (well in hot countries - maybe not Glasgow) that I’m not sure why it isn’t done more.

    Why 9?

This article suggests Starbase 362 was originally used, presumably from the mentioned book The Making of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine by Reeves/Stevens. I haven't read that book. https://redshirtsalwaysdie.com/2021/07/03/producers-didnt-like-the-title-of-deep-space-nine/

Garrett Wang on his original role in PIC S3.

We know in the prime universe that Kirk was Lt when he graduated. Same with Nog in the 24th century. (Yes Nog, who’s could barely read when Kim graduated, outranked him when Voyager returned to the alpha quadrant)

Kim said > KIM: No, no, I understand there's a command structure and that ourcircumstances are unique. But the fact is, if we were back home, I'd be a Lieutenant by now. Maybe even a Lieutenant Commander. http://www.chakoteya.net/Voyager/708.htm Data on the other hand spent > another three...

Ok. What is the chance of a Picard spinoff?

Picard was at the academy for "class of 27" (presumably 2327), Picard was Academy age (22 would fit), and Boothby was about Picards age [in 2368] That would put Boothby about 40 years older than Picard, or around 100, and still working a physical job. We know that "class of 27" might not refer...

First amendment audits, cool or not?

I assume you're talking about the US. The ones I've seen are traffic stops where the driver is sickeningly subservient, in a Wormtail / Voldamort way, to the police officer stopping them. Seemingly if you aren't, and you were foolish enough to drive while black, you are likely to be shot.
