I've been on this board for over a decade, but rarely post. I gotta say, that design is beautiful.
What I like most is that it looks like something from between the late TOS era and the movie era. About the only thing I would change is the shape of the bussard collectors to look similar to...
I received an email from Ares Studios on Sunday. According to it, "CBS has made a concerted effort to target Ares Studios, claiming that it is part of Axanar and trying to scuttle the fundraising efforts that pay the monthly rent." As a result, Ares Studios is installing a new management...
According to the article, Paramount obtained the rights for the first movie from the author based on the original article. The rights then reverted back to the author's estate a few years ago. The estate, or its beneficiaries, sent a cease and desist. Paramount denies that the sequel is...
Pretty much sums up in a more professional way what I thought as I walked out of that movie:
Beautifully shot but horrible story.
Still don't know what they were thinking with the sequels other than this storyboard looks good, that storyboard looks good. Let's film them and make up the rest...
No problem. Again, i can only seak to y experience with Potemkin, but in terms of outside the acting arena, we didn't have much. We all put on our own makeup, though the students had knowledge from the different plays and what not that they had done.
Special effects wise, I think we had a...

I remember this project, but not the artist. I saw the link in the Trek Art section. You might have better luck asking this question there. The artist may still be active and see it.
This is an example of why I wrote contracts and avoided litigation when I practiced. Absolutely hated this mentality. I get vigorously defending your client, I did it writing contracts, but have some common sense.
What I have noticed wth profanity of late is that it seems to replace good acting and writing. Why come up with something original to say whe you can drop an f bomb and be done with it. It also limits actor's abilities to act. Instead, they simply emote whilst swearing. Just seems lazy...
Beautiful work as always Forbin. I remember downloading one of your calendars, must have been 10 years ago. They're always great. Thanks for making these available!
This is why I like reading your posts here Maurice. You don’t just explain how it should be done. You explain WHY it should be done, which makes it usable in more than just the one setup. Thanks for keeping this going!

Fun film.
Is there software to assist with this? We had a discussion either in this thread or your other thread about the basic differences, but I don't recall scheduling the shoot as part of it. If so, is it specialized software or a simple spreadsheet?
