I was 15. Our family used to watch the show together and my memory of first impressions of most of the first 5 seasons includes context of my life...what we did that day, etc.
Anyhow, I really liked the creature of Armus and found it fascinating, especially his absorption and later...
I only recently noticed in Trek III: After the sun goes down on David and Saavik on Genesis, they look toward the landscape that the Klingons are advancing across. If one looks closely, the flashlights of the Klingons can be seen moving through the bushes in the long shot. This went unseen by me...
Looks like Trek II extras to me. Something more to study when I next rewatch.

Definitely the latest DE for me. It's a tighter story and I feel like the dropped SLV footage is redundant or silly stuff. I like that some of the better SLV footage makes its way into the DE, like the Alien Ensign being told their chances to return "may have doubled". For my money, I'd trim...
Exactly this. He sings a British drinking song in "Allegiance". In "Samaritan Snare" he eats a white bread sandwich, cut diagonally with the crust off when it should be a brie on baguette. It's only when he gets proud of his family vineyard that we see any French culture.
Spock doesn't get killed; Kirk doesn't steal Enterprise in Trek III to search for Spock; Kirk is not exiled on Vulcan, doesn't return to Earth in Trek IV; humpback whales are not retrieved from the past; probe destroys earth.
Was David L. Ross/Lt. Galloway one of them? (Speaking parts/all 3 seasons).
Other obvious guess - Mr. Leslie/Eddie Paskey, though I can't remember if he got lines in S2 or S3.
It would be very interesting to read the contemporary memos and see what was being said at the time. Was even the germ of the idea, gay angle notwithstanding, considered not good enough or unworkable? If so, I'd expect a memo to say something like, "how about a different gay story?". Maybe it's...
Found it. I got myself curious - I cleaned up my old magazines last weekend and knew exactly where it was. It's long - 3 pages. It was published October of 1992 and is all based upon a Mark Altman interview with David Gerrold. It's framed in terms of a discussion of the episode, "The Outcast"...
I have a 1992 Cinefantastique that interviewed Gerrold in detail on this whole story. I think you have it mostly right, except that there was something about the lawyer being asked by Roddenberry to lie to Gerrold on his behalf. I could dig that magazine up and confirm. I appreciate contemporary...
Shore Leave: Spock tells Kirk that Vulcans consider "rest" to be sitting still and conserving energy and that he doesn't understand the human need to do activities while on leave. Kirk just smiles to himself, happy and content to see Spock being Spock.
Are we supposed to believe that Hugh would have those scars in a era that someone can be made to look like a Romulan and back again with no apparent ill effects?
