Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
Really? I hadn't thought of that.
Everybody, I realize now that I probably shouldn't have posted anything at all about deciding to stop posting here; it would no doubt have been better simply to do it. My reasons have absolutely nothing to...
Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
Yes, sorry, I'd intended to respond. I actually did not name Orr; the character was mentioned in the Deep Space Nine episode "Paradise Lost."
Thanks for characterizing my work as "ridiculous." You're too kind.
Again, I have no problem...
Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
That would be telling.
I don't think the class of Cutlass made it into the final draft, but I intended it to be Saber-class (or Sabre-class; the spelling seems indeterminate).
Thanks...and please call me David.
No, the kidnapping has not...
I didn't say I was surprised; I said I found what you wrote stunning.
I was not referring to your alleged optimism, but to precisely what I quoted: "...it wouldn't need to be there if it were otherwise obvious that the saga was proceeding smoothly."
I found nothing you posted objectionable...
You know, those of us who actually write Deep Space Nine tales, who take days and weeks and months to develop a story and then to write it, also care about Star Trek and about the characters. To think that we don't borders on the absurd. I just read a comment from a reader who was displeased...

Re: Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts Of Empire review thread
^ Not sure why you think the chronological placement of this novel would be so challenging. I can identify the exact date on which every single page of the novel occurs.
And virtually every detail Clive Cussler surmised about the sinking and the wreck of the Titanic turned out to be true when they did find it.
Well, I wouldn't bother to watch Sahara. Not a good film, and Mr. McConaughey really doesn't convince as Dirk Pitt. Though neither did Richard Jordan in...
Re: MyrU: Shattered Light Review Thread
My view is that Data did not simply fulfill his need to see Lal, but Lal's need to see him. This may be a subtle distinction, but I think it is an important one.
The point of departure here is the extreme weather that delays the cybernetics conference...
I always like to start with a bang.
Within the ongoing Deep Space Nine saga, we last saw Sisko on Bajor, not serving in Starfleet, so why should we see him wearing a uniform? As for his hair, that just might get covered within the novel itself....
