I looked it up since I posted it. I saw the listing in the Radio Times - yes I still buy the 'bumper' Christmas edition, but strictly for the articles and interviews you understand ;).
It was Saturday teatimes here in the UK and I remember a big deal was made when they aired the TV-movie version of Planet of the Slave Girls as the series premier (we never saw either version of the pilot until sometime later).
I think the idea behind it is that it would contain the movie (maybe even multiple cuts of the movie, who knows) and its extras both legacy and new, spread over two or three discs. Thirty Years in the TARDIS, the Children in Need and Comic Relief specials, perhaps Scream of the Shalka (perhaps...

They may not have heard of the name of the Doctor's species or homeworld, but they knew he was a time-travelling alien (except in the original version of the pilot where he & Susan were from the distant future). The Wargames and subsequent stories simply supplied those names.

When a TV network called The Food Network cancels a show named 'The Kitchen', they must be in trouble. i mean what are they going to put on in its place?
Which discs are faulty? I had some sound issues with mine where I had to play something twice for the sound to work but I've had that on other BBC Blu-Rays. I just assume the problem is with my player.

That's something, what are they going to do with the design of the Blu-Ray art for the set (not to mention season 4) as there are two different Doctors headlining the show - Davison and Baker?
Unless what he meant was he was saving his knees for this ;). I've been seeing posters for this play all over central London, particularly in the underground.
