Last Doctor Who Story you listened to?

Just finished Deathworld and it's a resounding "meh" for me - mainly because there's hardly any story in this at all. It meanders aimlessly through a collection of set pieces, which do at times create some genuine emotional reactions but at other times ring hollow. And nothing feels like it...

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

I thought I had heard that there was a rights issue with using the cleaned up versions because they were originally produced for DVD and Blu-ray with a totally separate budget, but then BritBox (or Tubi, at least) went and added the special edition of Day of the Daleks and some of the non-BBC...

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

I think the classic Doctor Who Collection sets are marked Region B as well but they're definitely region-free, as are the animations and the Thirteenth Doctor's era. The only recent Doctor Who releases that weren't region-free were the 2023 specials (and presumably the upcoming Season 1...

Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

Yeah, as someone who started watching post-2005, Nick Briggs is very much the voice of the Daleks for me and I don't really hear Briggs as much as I do the Daleks.

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

I probably should invest in a region free player. Oddly, my 4K player handles HD content on the region free UK Doctor Who releases fine but chokes on SD archive content. (My old Blu-ray player and my PS4 handle the SD content just fine.)

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

Another thing I'm looking forward to is the In Conversation with Michael E. Briant feature. He did some great work on Doctor Who but it'll be interesting to hear about his work on Blake's 7 and elsewhere. And Matthew Sweet's interviews have long been a highlight of the Doctor Who sets.

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

I've never seen it. I know very little about B7 other than what happens at the ends of Series 2 and Series 4. I'm really excited to watch it.

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

If it's the same as the Doctor Who sets, the updated SFX will be optional on all episodes.

    Blake's 7 on Blu-ray!

Blake's 7 is finally getting a Blu-ray release! Series 1 is coming out in the UK on November 11. Here's the trailer. It'll be six discs, with a ton of extras. It's largely being handled by the same team that's doing the classic Doctor Who Blu-rays, which have been a treasure trove of video...

    A TNG Animated Series?

As much as I love TNG, I feel like Picard S3 was a great send-off for the characters. Their story's been told. I'd rather see new stories about new crews.

    Star Trek Soundtracks

Listening to Picard Season 3 Volume 2 and will have thoughts later but it I think "End Credits" is actually an unused track that combines the quiet portion of the First Contact theme with Jeff Russo's Picard end credits theme. It's interesting, though I'm ultimately glad they went with the...

    Star Trek Soundtracks

Well, I for one am ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGED and posting about it in ALL CAPS ON THE INTERNET! Surely that's the most effective way of getting what I want and not encouraging more people to buy the existing products, right?

    Star Trek Soundtracks

It was a fantastic release, but it was 2 and a half hours while the season had about 10 hours of runtime. Things were gonna get left out. I'm glad they're releasing more. I wish they'd do a second volume of Discovery's second season, as that also had a lot of great music not on the album, but I...

    Star Trek Soundtracks

Well, this is a surprise, but a welcome one. Lakeshore is releasing a second volume of music from Picard Season 3 this Friday! Great to have more of this excellent music. I hope they also release a listening order for those of us who'd like to put the two volumes into a single playlist.

Last Classic Who Story you watched

I presume it's the same channel available on Pluto TV and Tubi? It's a nice bonus.

That's great news about Prodigy! Hopefully SNW S2 follows shortly thereafter. As to Lower Decks, I, too, would love to have more than just the S1 release. Considering they haven't put out S2 or S3, though, I wouldn't think it's coming any time soon.

Sadly, some posts on the FSM forum confirm that the "forthcoming volumes" language was wrong and Volume 6 is indeed the last volume.

Last Doctor Who Story you listened to?

Big Finish revamped their website a couple days ago and to say it's not going well would be the understatement of the century. Tons of basic functionality is gone. The downloads page only shows 5 titles at a time with no ability to sort them any way other than a weird default (that BF insists is...

    Star Trek Soundtracks

La-La Land just announced volume 6 of the 1701 Collection yesterday, with CDs shipping August 5. The collection appears to be selling well, as they've also announced that there's less than 200 copies of volume 1 remaining in stock, so if you're on the fence, you may want to pick that up soon...
