    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Hi folks, sorry for radio silence. It never rains but it pours. I'm not dead but my work computer is. I'm currently in the process of getting a new build together and, fortunately, all my files are secure in the cloud. But it's a bit of a setback that I'm dealing with and hope you'll continue...

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Sorry I've been AWOL for a bit guys; work has been killing me and then the board upgrade. I hope to have some more to share in the next couple of days. :)

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

I've taken a stab at creating Senior Officers Quarters and populating Deck 03: I've also filled in more Junior Officers Quarters on Deck 04: The Senior Officers Quarters feel a little odd since we're used to seeing them in the reverse curve. I think the living area of both the inward curve...

What is your personal head canon?

@Nyotarules That's actually a great point. Maybe most Federation citizens are actually greedy and selfish. :rommie:

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

@TIN_MAN I'm very glad you've been enjoying it, thank you for following :) And that's a great point, I had nearly forgotten about that. I guess Kirk needed a large bed, eh? :rommie: I have gone back and forth about the VIP quarters. Suppose a VIP brought their family along - perhaps unlikely...

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Great suggestion! I'm on it. Thank you! I'm playing "squint and pretend" with that one, that it's just a food slot that looks suspiciously modern. I'm also kind of ignoring the Enterprise-A quarters overall. I consider that ship to be an experimental oddity. Agreed, I think the TNG revamps...

What is your personal head canon?

I could easily see Ferengi greed and commercialism eroding the values of Federation citizens who are exposed to it. Many Federation citizens often feel rather sheltered when it comes to direct contact with other civilizations.

Sulu: "She's supposed to have transwarp drive"

Agreed. If anything, that gives more credence to him calling it a "bucket of bolts" with regard to transwarp.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I mean, we do all control Hollywood.

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. :) You have an excellent memory; I'd completely forgotten. Both senior officer and VIP quarters have a food slot: That location makes a lot of sense to me, and the replicator location in the set on TNG is roughly in the same spot. I expect my senior...

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Apologies for the lack of progress this week, it's been busy at my job. This one's much more fun, though. I appreciate all the feedback and suggestions on this particular challenge. :) It's my general thought that for the TOS Enterprise the rings behind the sensor dish represented the bulk of...

Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

@Michael It's not just you, I agree with the sentiment. I also think a the appearance of a 14-year-old Chekov on SNW could veer horribly into Wesley territory if not careful.

    Suricata's MSDs

    Utterly beautiful work!

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

I took a pass at redrawing the crew quarters in the reverse curve and I kinda hate it: I think I'm going to just redraw the room to look like how I want them, actual set plans be damned.

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

Short weeks at work are always the best. The same amount of crap crammed into even less time. :rommie: Anyway, here's a quick update as I continue to work through quarters placements: This is Deck 04 and Deck 05, which I've estimated will contain between them 96 total Junior Officers Quarters...

It's entirely understandable. But rest assured, your 3D skills are fantastic and the envy of many. :rommie:

    Excelsior Technical Manual: Grand Finale

    @137th Gebirg That's my understanding and the way I'm planning to handle it. Here's a quick rundown of my crew and quarters estimates again: Type / Count / Quarters Senior Officers / 9 / 9 Junior Officers / 80 / 80 Enlisted Crew / 661 / 110 Visiting Personnel / 130 / 65 The enlisted crew...

The nacelles look great in general. I also particularly enjoy the more aggressive, streamlined saucer "plateau."

Generations had a bigger budget than ST6, so why...

I've never read about Koenig's treatment for STVI. I'm happy with what we got, but that was fascinating.
