This is why my favorite celebrities are the Muppets.

I'm really glad that as a little kid I was more obsessed with SeaQuest than the Superman show. Darwin the dolphin will never disappoint me.

To be fair they might be the only job he can get at this point.

Spoilers The Fantastic Four: First Steps grade and discussion thread

I don't see Wes Anderson at all. It's just using 60s space age aesthetics, something that isn't even in all of Anderson's movies.

    Tron: Ares

At the very least it's going to have a great soundtrack and it looks pretty. I recommend edibles for this one.
  7. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

I got into the comics in the early 90s and he'd occasionally kill, but there was always a weight to it. The biggest probably being Doomsday where he has to kill him because it's the only way to stop him and kills Supes in the process. I also felt that he's willing to kill if given no other...

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

I don't think that Superman is against killing in the same way Batman is. I just don't think it served any purpose in the story other than a juvenile attempt to make Superman look edgy by people who don't understand Superman beyond him being a male power fantasy.

    Superman

The death wasn't earned, we barely got to know him as a character before they kill him. It's like killing off Tony Stark in Iron Man 2 just to bring him back for the Avengers.
  10. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Fictional characters aren't making choices. I don't disagree with the character, I disagree with the writing and think it was made for stupid reasons. Namely a lame attempt to look edgy, it's the same choice made by someone writing grimdark My Little Pony fanfics.

Then don't watch the movies, watch the cartoons and older ones. They're all available for streaming 24/7, they even made a new cartoon. They aren't going to stop having a shared universe because one guy on the internet doesn't like it.

The majority of Kevin Smith's career is just him talking for a long time and I say this as a fan of him talking for a long time.
  13. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Superman isn't real, he does whatever the writer wants him to do.
  14. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

It's a fictional story, you can make Superman do whatever you want him to do because you control every single variable. If you don't want Superman to kill, you don't put him in a situation where he has to kill. This is just another failed attempt to make an edgy Superman and "serious drama".
  15. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

If the original plan for the DCEU had continued it would've basically just been Injustice but post-apocalyptic. It would've been worth it if it was all setup for the Justice League from another universe showing up to fight Cavil's Superman and defeat him.
  16. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

It was his justification for why he had to write it that way. It's not like it was a real event that's being documented, it was a choice he made during production.
  17. Awesome Possum

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Really my only issue with Superman killing Zod in MoS was Snyder’s take that he had to kill Zod to understand the value of life which is just insane. I think a lot people understand the value of life without having to kill someone.

I saw a video on YouTube that mentions the mural, it's supposed to show the history of metahumans.
