    News Star Trek Voyager Documentary

No link for me either, which feels fitting. But as I wouldn't be able to watch until Monday I'll give them a day.

Transition and explanation of SNW into TOS technology

There was a fan theory that it was 'Dauntless', because Voyager had the slipstream-enabled Dauntless NX-01-A. Obviously that ship was a fake, but the Voyager crew thought it initially seemed authentic, so may have understood it being a fitting name for a breakthrough new engine design. But...

    Picard film in development

Indeed. What happened was that Paramount+ and Nickelodeon dropped it, but it was shopped around instead. It's not a Batgirl-style write-off in any sense. Fortunately Star Trek has never done that.

    Picard film in development

I don't think it was, they sold it to Netflix and released it on DVD/Blu-ray.

Transition and explanation of SNW into TOS technology

As quoted by Wesley Crusher in Prodigy!

    Never played that one!

Star Trek Armada/Star Trek Armada 2

Similar to Elite Force in that respect. Both from the glory days of Star Trek games, along with Bridge Commander! The modding communities around them were amazing too.

    Playmates Toys

That's great! I love how Avery said "our communicators are much smaller than this", pointing out the crazy huge Playmates version. But other than that, an amazing display of toys. Cool to see the prototype bridge with the turbolift too!

Transition and explanation of SNW into TOS technology

To paraphrase another long-running sci-fi series; "Splendid ships, all of them."

    Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Yeah, I'm not quite sure if they needed more time. Was there much more story to tell or many unresolved arcs?

Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

I'm just as excited about getting more sets from existing ships as new bridges. The holy grail would be walking around the TMP hanger/cargo complex! The rec room would be amazing too. I'm also interested in seeing some more speculative additions. What's at the back of the Promenade, for...

    Playmates Toys

All my toys are open. Well most of them are, there are a few I've not got around to yet. They take up much less space without the packaging!

Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

It was obviously a very cheaply constructed set for the movie, but I'm sure OTOY's wizards will polish it up as they did the Grissom bridge, and all the concept bridges. The Ken Adam concept turned out beautifully.

And they could easily not mention any dates, since they're unlikely to be relevant. Unless Khan was fond of reminiscing: "It was 1992; the Barcelona Olympics, Shakespeare's Sister were in their eighth week at number one, Sharon Stone uncrossed her legs, and I finally executed all of my enemies".

    Picard film in development

That's a fair point. The Third World War was located in the mid-21st century as early as Encounter at Farpoint, but I don't believe that it was also intended at the time to move the Eugenics Wars, with Khan's unequivocal mention of 1996 was still very recent. Other references? Phlox...

    Picard film in development

Is there any suggestion that the Eugenics Wars were nuclear, or is that a conflation with the Third World War? They may have been intended to be one and the same during TOS, but this has been retconned by the TNG era. Spock's line that "Whole populations were being bombed out of existence"...

What ships SHOULD they have used in the Dominion War?

My head cannon is that it originally had a different nacelle and was upgraded, because the rest of the ship doesn't really suggest Galaxy-era. Or alternatively that it was some kind of limited run testbed for the Galaxy nacelle. Which is why we don't see many.

What ships SHOULD they have used in the Dominion War?

The Freedom’s saucer is much smaller than the Galaxy - if you scale it to the nacelle. The hanger deck is probably no bigger than the Constitution, and the saucer is only a little larger, so it’s likely more of a scout ship doing support missions around the Federation. I would t have thought it...
