News Comic writer Peter David has passed away

DT was definitely a disappointment because the studio thought it would do Batman numbers but as I understand it, the film was still slightly profitable and did nab Pacino an Oscar nomination.(and the film some wins in the technical and musical categories).

  3. the G-man

News Comic writer Peter David has passed away

I wonder if that had anything to do with Beatty and Disney thinking DT was going to be the next Burton Batman and being less bullish (unfortunately) on the Rocketeer.

The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Great in many things. My favorite of his was probably the crooked cop in Fletch.

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Not to quibble or go further down the political rabbit hole with you but a federal misdemeanor is a criminal offense punished but up to a year in federal prison. In fact, a number of the Jan 6 protesters were charged and imprisoned federal misdemeanors (see, e.g., 18 U.S.C. § 1752, which covers...

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

You might have had a point, but for the Craig reboot using the same theme. But even if you did have a point... The use of recurring musical cues as a storytelling device dates back to well before movies and serves a purpose well beyond "laziness" or "desperation." It helps set the tone and...

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

That's like arguing no James Bond movie should have used the iconic "James Bond theme" after Connery left.

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Looked good to me. Really good. I'm still bearish on the sheer number of characters included in the movie but Brosnahan and Corenswet are nailing Lois and Clark so far and Hoult looks to be right up there with them. And the John Williams music will never not give me the feels.

Thanks for all who voted in the last contest. The last contest was all about evil. This one is about good, specifically super-heroes, those never-ending battlers for truth, justice and the (fill in your country of choice) way. Comics, movies, television, etc. Other than the standard...
