Would You Be Ok With Khan Being A CGI Ricardo Montalban?

But he has to look like Khan, in the same way that Montalban fitted the image that Gene L. Coon and Carey Wilber conceived of. It's the same reason why each of the new actors in the roles of Kirk and co. were chosen as much because of their resemblances and similar features to their...

    Klingons in TNG Blu-Ray

At least it wasn't green... That would be confusing.

Game Star Trek A to Z

A is for Andonian tea, a favored drink with some admirals at Starfleeet Command in 2364. B is for Balok. Commander of the First Federation Flagship Fesarius. C is for Climbing. James T. Kirk enjoyed doing it on some mountains and sheer rockfaces. D is for Denobulans. I bet the dating scene in...

What episodes of TNG should I watch before First Contact?

    The Borg: Wondering....

Indeed, although it's very likely that the Borg don't just stop at Carbon-based lifeforms. Can you imagine a Horta Borg?

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

I swear that it's going to get to the point where I re-write the entire 2285 trilogy, just to factor in common sense. I reckon I could tell a better overall story, hell I reckon everybody posting in this thread could tell a better overall story. Think about it as modding a video game...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

You would have thought that Starfleet would have maintained a heavy military presence in the sector, to prevent people who "shouldn't be there", being there...

I'm reminded of something else too. In the space of a few hours, Spock learned how to walk, have sex, and even overpower a Klingon officer - with little or no reference and a completely blank mind. Sure, people can pick things up pretty fast, but this is verging on ridiculous!

It irks me somewhat that Saavik wasn't the one to take the phaser and go "find out" who the hunting party were. After all, she's a Starfleet officer, trained to defend herself and navigate many different hostile situations. David was nothing more than a civilian scientist with a short temper and...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

Damn! I completely forgot about this! Yeah, it's just before the Pon Farr scene. At one stage I speculated that this was intentional, as if a Klingon had gone ahead and was trying to sneak up on Saavik and Spock, only to get killed during the tectonic event.

If anything, if it's the prop and VFX departments who are to blame for the casket flubs. I'm pretty sure they could have done a better job with the casket - even in 1983/4! As for the storyline gaffs, one has to look no further than Harve Bennett. Nimoy approved the script and story as the...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

Force of the air being expelled, combined with an "easy-open" lid, wouldn't play out well, especially if pressure is the trigger to open the latch. Also, there would still be gases within Spock's body, which would be expelled as well. In my head, I'm correlating all sorts of disastrous...

Would You Be Ok With Khan Being A CGI Ricardo Montalban?

Ricardo Montalban was in ridiculously good shape throughout most of his life. Hell, he still managed to look well even when he became wheelchair dependent! IIRC, Montalban's background was in musical theatre and dance, so it's not a stretch to say that he continued the vigorous training regimes...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

 Don't start that! Honestly, some things just don't seem right in the movies. For instance, the area where Spock's casket landed is curiously landlocked, suggesting that the Enterprise crew wanted his casket to land there. (depending on what theory you go with) Any kind of release...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

But why would it have an inner latch in the first place? It's unnecessary, given that only the inanimate equipment and raw materials will be inside the casing. As for why they would remove the latch mechanism, you answered your own question - namely that it was going to be used as a burial...

    Everytime I watch TWOK/TSFS...

^ But there was no pressure release nor did David show signs of any resistance when opening it. This suggests one of two things, either Spock had an in-built release switch (which would be stupid, since he was dead) which broke the airtight seal, or the Casket wasn't sealed at all. If it wasn't...
