    Petition: Seven of Nine Spinoff

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it with such a clever reference.

    Season 4 = Poor

What stood out for me this year was consistency. The first two seasons were wildly uneven, with some decent highs and very low lows. 3 was a bit steadier, and now with 4, DSC has figured out what it wants to be and is being it. (I'm not that impressed with what it wants to be, but hey.)

Tales Of The Federation - Akiva Goldsman wants anthology series with classic characters

Who do you mean? I can't think of any exceptions.

Tales Of The Federation - Akiva Goldsman wants anthology series with classic characters

I'm torn. On the one hand, I've been hoping for an anthology series since back when we were still debating what "Series V" was going to be. On the other hand, the only less encouraging start for a Trek pitch than "Akiva Goldsman wants" is "J. J. Abrams wants".

    Five-Minute "Spock's Brain"

Thanks for the replies! Nice to be remembered, too. Here's something else; it's not worth its own thread, so I thought I'd add it here. When Leonard Nimoy passed away, it occurred to me that according to many cosmologies (mine included), he now knows the answers to all those mysteries he looked...

    Five-Minute "Spock's Brain"

Hey! Those with longish memories will recall that I'm TrekToday's parody guy. Those with really long memories, however, will know I used to post my "fivers" in this forum when I was just starting out. Right now I can't get into my TT account, so I thought it might be fun to go old-school. My...

Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we love

Re: Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we l You guys do realize that the post that triggered this fight... ...was just playing off a line from the movie, right? By the way, Warped9, I'd love to see your reaction to this. (From a safe distance.)

Did TNG predict the catalyst for ST2009?

Interesting thought. It's easy enough to imagine the Klingons conquering the Romulans without any such advantage, but it would certainly have helped. By the way -- and I'm not saying this reflects my actual opinion -- how am I just now noticing that "Bad Robot" sounds like "Bad Reboot"?

Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we love

Re: Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we l It certainly might have done, but I question the "probably". That's what I call the "new blood" fallacy, since that particular phrase was thrown around a lot in the late Berman era. If Nemesis (written and directed by...

Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we love

Re: Isn't it time we realize Rick Berman was the genius of the ST we l Agreed. The ST:G soundtrack was one of my first CDs, and I listened to it a ton. The main theme absolutely nailed the scope and grandeur a Trek movie should have. There's a lot to be said for Jerry Goldsmith's work on the...

    Breaking Bad - Season 5

I recently got into this show. I don't enjoy it exactly -- I like my protagonists likable -- but it's really good stuff. You guys might get a kick out of my parody of the series pilot. (It's a "five-minute" parody like the ones I write for TrekToday... which at this point, unfortunately, only...

    The Laertian Gamble

I was gonna ask about that... what's everyone's beef with Warped? I read it years ago and found it a bit dense, but a good read with some fairly cool ideas.

    "Trek dream is still alive"

Don't get me wrong, I love ENT S3. There are just a lot of parallels.

Maybe not all of ENT, but Season 3? You better believe it. bbailey861: "Just not where you found it"?

    "Trek dream is still alive"

Good news from the International Express! On closer inspection, of course, this has nothing to do with Star Trek. But I'll bet I'm not the only one here who did a double-take in the checkout line. Trek tends to inspire melodrama in those writing about it (how many people have waxed...

    Plot hole city: Part 3!

I agree that these can be rationalized (some more easily than others), but what's wrong with his use of the term "plot hole"?

Synopsis of JMS's synopsis of the "original arc for B5" **SPOILERS**

Re: Synopsis of JMS's synopsis of the "original arc for B5" **SPOILERS This outline is fascinating -- too bad it's an obvious fake. It never once mentions Sinclair's duck.
