    Anonymous in Prophecy and Change

Who wrote the framing sequences? It wouldn’t surprise me if it was Marco Palmieri since he was the editor, but is there an actual answer?

    Kathy Janeway…

Um, I guess this a Star Trek IN literature, but has anyone ever noticed that there’s a Kathy Janeway in L.A. Confidential? She meets an ignominious end, but the name jumped out at me.

“First Vulcan to graduate at the head of her class”

Not to take away anything from the successes of pre-treasonous Valeris, but this is an absolutely nutty statement. How was Spock not the first Vulcan at the head of his class? Was there any kind of lit-verse answer to this? I would be happy if this was ignored wholly.

    The Sundered

I didn’t see a dedicated thread for this book. I really like it, especially because I’ve been watching a little bit of Space: 1999. Shit got real real for these Alphans, though. I did have to check the air dates for In a Mirror, Darkly, when the Defiant makes its cameo (I’m not finished, don’t...

    Picard and Ro...

Just read the Picard and Ro goodbye scene in Avatar and it was kind of everything I wanted out of it? I loved being in Ro’s head for it and Picard acted exactly as he should have. It’s not first season jerk Picard, it’s post-Insurrection Picard (I think. Pretty sure.) I really liked it.

DS9 and the Trek Lit Flow Chart

I’m trying to get it all done by the time Coda comes out. When it comes to DS9, there’s like this gap between Section 31: Abyss and the rest where Gateways and a comic mini series falls in where I’m just like “Do I gotta?” And I’ll buy a comic and read Gateways and stuff, but do I gotta, or can...

    Poster from the Smithsonian exhibit

I normally hang over in the Trek Lit board, but I get the feeling that this is the group that could help me. I’m looking for a poster, I’m almost positive I got it at the Smithsonian Exhibit in ‘91, it’s a painted image of the Enterprise, either refit or A, speeding along, firing photon...

    Assignment: Eternity and mind melds

If there’s one thing I hate in TrekLit, it’s mind meld scenes. They try too hard and our overly mystical and are all basically the same, downward spirals into madness. I have to give @Greg Cox a lot of credit, because his mind meld between Spock and Roberta was not stupid, was not boring, and...

    Star Trek: The Untold Voyages

This was a pretty good little miniseries from the (second) Marvel era. I find a lot of that stuff to be hot or miss, mostly miss, but I liked this one a lot. Each issue covers an adventure from the “second five year mission”. I was surprised about that wording, because I was pretty sure that...

    Star Trek: Vanguard

I’m someone who read Trek books as a kid, but moved on to “grown-up books”. In the last year, I’ve done an insane read through. I’m at over a hundred, at this point. It’s basically obsessive. But Vanguard, man, this is the show. Not a slight against Discovery or Picard at all, since they are...

Leon Russom, Commander in Chief Bill

Is he anybody in the books? It seems like he would have come up, but I’m having trouble placing something.

    Star Trek VI in Hardcover

This is a thing that doesn’t exist? The completist in me needs to finish the hardcover movie adaptions, but I can’t? What’s that about?
