I was reading a Trek book today and David Gerrold said that Fontana wrote for Tasha Yar to command the saucer section in Farpoint. Apparently, Roddenberry wrote in the character of Worf so that didn't happen. This upset Fontana. I don't remember hearing this before. That's really messed up if...
Is there an episode that you like and has a small section that makes you cringe, and wish was not there? For me, it's the part in Caretaker when the crew is transported to the recreation of a southern home with a barn. The lady offers them sugar cookies. That small section bugs me to the point...
Beltran said he was often unhappy with the writing for his character. How would you have written his character differently? What kinds of storylines did they miss out on?
I recently joined the Starfleet Command Fan Club. I'm curious if others here are members or have been in the past. What is your impression of this club? It appears to be one of the oldest Star Trek clubs dating back to '74.
I haven't noticed any Cardassians in the newer Trek shows. I wonder why. They are one of the most interesting species. Maybe the makeup is a pain for the actors.
I'd like to see this species come back to Trek somewhere down the line. I'm not sure of the legalities of if some writers would need to be paid from the 90s, but having a Voth team up with a Human would be interesting.
Anyone know the terms of the Peace Treaty other than one founder going to a Federation prison? Do they still have the same Gamma Quadrant territories? Did Odo's influence cause them to loosen up their grip on them?
I miss the longer seasons. Waiting over a year until the next season seems like a long time. It was nice to only wait a few months. I'm sure the actors prefer the shorter seasons though. They also can have a higher budget for effects with 10 episodes. What are your thoughts on this?
In case you all haven't heard, Gates McFadden has a new podcast. I really enjoy it. She has different Trek actors on and they have some deep discussions.

I hope they have that out of their system and don't kill off too many long time characters in the 2nd season. There are other ways to wound the main characters.
What do you think happened to Thomas during, or after, the war? Did the Dominion just execute him when they took over? Did Starfleet find a way to get him released, or transferred, after the war was over?
Neelix was obviously intended to be the comic character at the start of the series. It doesn't really work for me though. The writing was a little too on-the-nose and obvious. It gave of the impression of trying too hard to be funny. Him hugging Tuvok made me cringe. Ethan Phillips is a good...
I'm kind of surprised a documentary on Stewart hasn't been made. As a Trek fan, it would be interesting to learn about his life, and career, in depth before TNG.
Thought maybe some of you might find this interesting. Beltran comments that he got along well with Producers Jeri Taylor and Michael Piller but hints it wasn't the same with the other producers.
After seeing the whole series, it seems the Picard show serves as a proper ending to Nemesis. It's as if they're trying to correct it. Was this something that attracted Stewart and Spiner to the project? I'm just curious. They know it isn't the most popular movie with the fans.
