Season 1 "Progress"
And apparently enough energy to heat "two hundred thousand homes". Seriously, sometimes you'd think Bajor only had like 10 million people the way they talk about it, they needed to scale up the numbers a lot.
But regardless of that, I found it disturbing that they...
I'm rewatching DS9 from the beginning at the moment and remembering what I love about it...anyway they were already talking about admitting Bajor to the Federation in DS9 but is it just me or does the planet not quite seem to meet the standards? It seems like it was still a planet full of very...
Is I felt it was a bit too cheerful/hopeful for a theme that ends the show, a bit like TNG's theme. I think DS9 and VOY got the balance right, the theme over the end credits should be able to fit perfectly with a happy or whimsical ending, as well as a thoughtful or sad one. Whatever way a...
So on CBS Action here in the UK, there is a trekspert who introduces new episodes and there was a short clip of him talking to the various TNG actors and when he was speaking to Burton he said "Its said that the worst thing you can do to an actor is cover his eyes" and Burton replied "Its true...
I only became a full fan of Trek when Enterprise started and it was advertised a lot on TV so I gave it a go and found it so new and exciting.
Before that I'd mostly thought Trek was really stupid looking, I'd based my judgements on DS9 because every time I turned over there was some bizarre...
I don't have any Trek autographs and have never met a trek actor in my life, so I have a lot to choose from. For some reason I think I most want to meet Terry Farrell and get her autograph. She just seems like such a down to earth person and is beautiful to boot. After that I'd like the...
Does anyone else feel this way? Not being able to see an actor's eyes is just annoying, its true that you really do see people's emotions etc through their eyes and Geordi always just felt absent to me because his eyes were covered up with that damned visor.
I thought it would be interesting to compare comparable episodes (of the same genre or story type) across the 3 series (or more if you want!) and see which you prefer.
For example:
Messing with memory (episodes where memory plays an important part)
Clues vs Equilibrium vs Latent Image
Those...
Who are your favorite Trek episode writers?
I had a look at my 30 favorite episodes list and tallied up the writers and found there was a 3 way tie between Braga/Moore and Menosky who all had 7 episodes each.
Looking at the complete lists of episodes on memory alpha, I'd have to Ronald D...
I don't know if many of you use this site but its one of my favorite media sites www.avclub.com
The reviewer Zack Handeln previously went through every episode of TNG http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/tvshow/star-trek-the-next-generation,102/ and now he's going through all of DS9 except this time...
Watching the show, I never got the impression that the writers really had a firm grasp on what it means to be a joined Trill incorporating the host and the symbiont. Does anyone else feel this way? It seemed to swing between Jadzia basically being Dax in a new body to Jadzia having the memories...
I haven't seen a thread like this around in a while and I always like them! So I thought we should all take a break from arguing over what was wrong with Voyager and look at its high points.
So mine are as follows
1. Barge of the Dead
I think Voyager did "death" stories fantastically well -...
Half prophet?
I personally found it a big mistake. I just found myself rolling my eyes so much through the early episodes of season 7 and wondering when we were going to get back to normal DS9. It definitely derailed a bit in season 7 I don't care what anyone says.
Well what's your opinion?
I'd say trek episodes can be categorized, so can you think of any categories and which are your favorite episodes that fit into them?
Some I can think of
Political commentary: "The High Ground"
Comedy: "The Magnificent Ferengi"
Love story: "Lessons"
Time travel: "Before and After"...
I thought it would be fun to have a thread where someone compares all a specific episode of a specific season across all the shows.
So for example, comparing all season 4 episode 21 (picked randomly) shows across all the Trek shows.
TNG vs DS9 vs VOY vs ENT
"The Drumhead" vs "The Muse"...
I haven't seen a thread like this in ages, so I thought I'd make one.
I actually made a video of my top 20 favorite episodes so feel free to watch that instead of reading the written list :rommie:

20. The Defector
Fantastic mix of intrigue...
Excluding finales, what are the 5 worst episode/story resolutions in Trek in your opinion?
In choosing my 5, I've kinda tried to avoid choosing terrible episodes because most bad episodes tend to have bad endings. I've tried to go for episodes that were good but had awful endings that tainted...
