...and do something with some green turf outdoors" (can't blame the viewers at that point) or whatever the euphemism is and then wonder why the ratings actually went down because more and more viewers actually took the advice (regardless if the drop is not enough to not renew it for another...

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

Holy Prophets! Robbie’s ratings are…henceforth, dead to me 🫣😅 I mean fair enough having fond memories from filming them but that’s a startling lack of objectivity. Those episodes were about the time I actually gave up on Voyager altogether. They were THAT bad. This week they got so hung up on...

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

Sure but this is the internet, it might turn into "Robert Duncan McNeill hates good tv!!!" without an explanation.

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

My comment was just to point out that one doesn't have to take his ratings too seriously. I agree. Which goes back to my point of not having to take his ratings too seriously. :)

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

...for the cast a lot. And obviously filing an episode is a very different experience than watching an episode and I think that bleeds into the ratings. Whoopi Goldberg talked about this once, she says she cannot watch Ghost like other people because she doesn't see the characters and cannot...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x04 - "A Space Adventure Hour"

Well mostly because it was the 60's and nobody cared. Plus they were just working it all out. Different TV standards of the day that the follow up shows were usually somewhat more careful about. But, obviously, there were always exceptions. But saying the original series was contradictory...

    Things that frustrate us all

When I was involved in my auto accident last year where I rear ended the vehicle in front of me and received a ticket for distracted driving, I drove to my insurance agents office and spoke directly with a customer service representative. I explained to her the reason I was distracted and that I...

Is it time to put Star Trek to rest?

Yes I know. Didn't I mention it in this thread? (Or was it somewhere else?? .. 😂 )I forgot if I did. Dc made the unfortunate choice of including almost every single filmed DC property into the DCU. Well it's the DCEU now I think. But at any rate I thought that was extremely stupid to do also...

    Things that frustrate us all

In the UK the practice of giving new customers cheaper rates than existing has been banned. What has happened there though is premiums for new customers where no longer discounted heavily and rates given now match renewal customers.

A Star Trek Inspired Economic Model For The Future

A "Democratic distributist stakeholder economy with usury-free banks" combines features from three related but distinct concepts: Distributism: An economic philosophy that advocates for widespread ownership of productive assets (land, tools, businesses) among many individuals or families...

    Poll Ethan Peck's Spock

Ar the rate SNW is going, there will some crisis or trauma to snap Spock into his TOS self.

Is it time to put Star Trek to rest?

..."it was just the same 30 years ago so why aren't fans liking it now" where either too much repetition of the same trope, or a different style are clearly both factors. Again, depends on whom you ask and why does anybody care when the modern shows have high enough ratings to get 5 seasons' worth?

Is it time to put Star Trek to rest?

Which was stupid as well, in fact one of the few things I've never liked with older Trek. If WWIII would happen, humanity would be gone. There would be only radioactive dust left and in a few decades humanity would have died out. Even if they did survive, they would be back in the Stone Age. It...

50 Years Ago This Week August 3 A0620-00, the first x-ray nova to also be visible on an optical telescope (designated V616 Mon), was seen and detected to flare. Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x04 - "A Space Adventure Hour"

After some reflection, I would bring my rating down a point, specifically because of the parody element. The found footage made sense as part of the plot, but what were the intro and ending bits? Was Final Frontier a real show in universe, or was it something the recreation room invented, but...

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

I think that, for me, the earlier films didn't have to be that great for me to enjoy them because it was really the first generation of consistently watchable super-hero movies. Every year, we could look forward to a couple of favorite heroes and be confident that the movies would not be utter...
