News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

agreed. I think ENT was done the most dirty of any of the crews. They really deserve a better send off. Every other crew i was satisfied with where they ended it. Even Prodigy, after only two seasons, i was pretty satisfied with the ending. If nothing else, I want Trek to give ENT the...

    Spinoff....

I think of it as the Bosch: Legacy idea. "We didn't want Strange New Worlds to be cancelled but we can effectively resurrect the show with some of the cast by pitching it as a new show."

That's kind of what the streaming model is. There's constantly something new. I admit though, it can be a bit much some days.

Or they should do what the Japanese do for their Broadcast schedules every season (13/26 weeks), have new shows ready to go in the pipeline. So there is less chance that somebody will cancel. Also, don't do reruns, just have new shows on constantly at a consistent pace.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x06 - "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail"

But yes, I support STAR TREK: YEAR ONE based on this. Mind you that's because I see this as, "Strange New Worlds shouldn't be cancelled so it would be the BOSCH: LEGACY of SNW."

Scary scavenger: Haha, Pike I'm going to kill you now, your death will be so slow and painful you'll wish you were in a flashing wheelchair instead! Pike: How do you even know about that? (meanwhile back on the Farragut) Spock: Hit successful captain, we have just detonated the D7 inside...

Trek's future according to Paramount's new owners...

Been plenty of movies that have recouped there cost, but any sequal was canceled because it didn't do "Well Enough" Tron Legacy comes to mind. Trek, with maybe the Kelvin series as a outlier, has always been mid to small budget releases. They gave it a try with 2009, and did good, but Trek...

Fine piece of journalism there. Quoting Bruce Boxleiter as Bradley. That said, I don't blame him one bit. Between the terrible treatment of  Uprising to the delays and the ultimate cancelation of the  Legacy sequel, I would be fed up, too. I also appreciate his feelings about no longer...

    Tron: Ares

It doesn't look like Boxleitner is coming back for this as after the third film was initially cancelled a decade ago back when it was going to be a direct sequel to Legacy, he was disappointed over the news and because of this, had ended his involvement in the franchise...

Because at the end of the day, entertainment is a business. They want to keep you hooked. People cancel their subscriptions all the time when their shows take breaks. If they break a season into multiple parts, they can more revenue. I don’t like it either but I do understand it. And just FYI...

News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

You are forgetting that Paramount doesn't want their Trek viewing audience to be confused in any way. Here's what I find confusing: That anyone is interested in revisiting the KT after almost ten years of the casual moviegoing audience completely forgetting about it. And that Goldsman thinks...

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

Time travel logic almost never makes sense in fiction, because there's only one of two ways to do it: 1. All time travel is a closed loop, and there are no alternative timelines. All of your travel to the past has already happened. This is the most logical stance, but it implies a lack of...

Why was Enterprise received so poorly?

...budget cuts, the fourth year is widely acknowledged as the show’s best, but by that time, I was no longer a regular viewer, and its cancellation at the end of the 2004-05 season brought an end to 18 consecutive years of live-action Trek on TV. The franchise then lay dormant for all of four...

News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

Huh? All of these pitches are meant to be ongoing series, not TV movies. Unless your definition of 'Long Treks' is different from mine. I doubt that Kelvin movies are on Skydance's radar. Movies, yes, KT, no. I really don't see this happening. If anything, there will be old Scott Bakula and...

News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

All the pitches at STLV (Year One, Tawny’s show, Legacy, United) all work as Long Treks. Paired with a Kelvin movie, Skydance would have Trek content to produce. Though with United, if it’s made into a Long Trek, it will be expected to be an ENT reunion to give them the sendoff they never got...

Is it time to put Star Trek to rest?

Obviously people stopped watching it because it was bad. As for the movies, they are almost forgotten now and the "fans" who were attracted to them are waching other boring 2020's movies now. I will probably watch it but it isn't top priority for me. Canon is necessary, otherwise it would be...

Is it time to put Star Trek to rest?

I would guess that it would be no different from when ENT got cancelled because those loyal fans stopped watching it. Someone else eventually took over, and made shitloads of money for Paramount with his movies that catered to the casual moviegoing audience, and not the 'loyal fans.'

    box office

Too much content without the talent to match its output tends to lead to the MCU under-performances we are witnessing in recent years. It certainly happened to the comic book industry at various periods of its history, and on occasion, publishers learned from their mistakes but cancelling...
