I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

If you're asking for an example of Bones making a joke at what might be considered an inappropriate moment, I'd say something like The Devil in the Dark. He's making jokes about not being a bricklayer, all while Kirk is ordering him to try and heal a dying creature that's the last living...

Spoilers Superman (2025) Grade and Discussion

I may be reading too much into it, but I also took the breeding with human women line to be a jab at Elon Musk.

key word there is "imbalance", humor in a dramatic setting should be used with great care, otherwise it undermines that very drama

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x01 - "Hegemony, Part II"

The Xindi-Insectoids in ENT had ships that looked almost as pointy, jagged and asymmetrical and the Gorn vessels in SNW sort of remind me of them.

Which series would you want next?

It was both, along with several other things. Um, no. The movie took place in 2336, not 2256. The 'DIS style' should not have been prevalent at all, no matter who the movie was about. If they wanted to focus on the DIS style, they should have had Georgiou land back in the 2250's.

Spock and Chapel Handhold Thread (S3 x 02)

I see no issue. Their romance started on shaky ground anyways, with Spock being engaged to T’Pring and Chapel’s presence undermining that relationship. The presence of T’Pring alone was always going to make commitment difficult, unless Spock left T’Pring for Chapel. At best, Spock and T’Pring...

Could Equinox have turned Voyager around?

But the show wasn't about two battlestars.

I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

It's tone shifts every episode, much as TOS did. I wouldn't call "Lift Us Up Where Suffering Cannot Reach", "A Quality of Mercy", "Under the Cloak of War" or any of the Gorn episodes as silly fun. Even a fish out of water story like "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" take a dark turn not...

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

Kevin Feige also mentioned that the MCU will be reset after 2027, and that they will create a new X-MEN cast with new actors, and eventually a new Tony Stark and a new Steve Roger will be chosen.

using my Thor/MCU example as a template (which was the whole point here), can you show me where Bones did the same? i.e. injecting humor into a serious dramatic moment? I'm not arguing BTW, (and I understand how forum dynamics work), the original post that was quoted, I agreed with a segment...

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

I still want to see some of the newer characters they have come back, like Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, and Monica. I hope they don't get abandoned for this reboot. There was some good stuff there that should be paid off down the road.

Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

Because they don‘t really care about such details. We‘re 3 seasons in and they still haven‘t bothered to fix the rank stripes of the main cast.

I like that idea. Something in the exterior design was required to allow an efficient implementation of the slipstream tech and Arturis copied it, but with variations necessitated by his own limited resources. Very cool idea!

Firebird's Sketch of the Week Series

...scenes in the show she's late 20's/early 30's, but it still works: This week's episode showed her during high school with an interesting short cut with longer "sideburns" that helped to frame her face. Her old hairstyle is cute, but the jellyfish bob she has an adult is *chef's kiss*.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x01 - "Hegemony, Part II"

They have one of the rare Asymmetric StarShips in Star Trek. The last time we saw that design style was with the Breen in DS9. I thought those were Camera's / Sensors?

I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

I’ve had a bad weekend so it’s maybe making me come down harder on the show than it deserves. But for me there’s just a tonal imbalance…which might be ironed out if there were more episodes per season. For me there’s just too much emphasis on the silly, humorous side and this extends to the...
