Spoilers Wish World grade and discussion thread

Certainly an entertaining watch, with fun performances, fantastic visuals, & that classic RTD build, & the Omega reveal did get a reaction out of me - score one for Bluesky's muting functionality for helping me stay unspoiled (I will never understand the need to know what's coming; surprise is a...

The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

The new "Total Recall" was the worst in that regard. The only thing it changed was the setting and heavily sanitizing the fight scenes, due to the PG-13 rating.

The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - ENT Final Rounds

I'll throw a vote toward "Regeneration". It brings back the Borg to get ratings even though it's years before first contact, the prologue lasts forever, and it doesn't really give you anything to think about. Regeneration - 1 The Council - 0 Twilight - 2 In a Mirror, Darkly, Part I - 0 In a...

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

Neither was Breaking Bad when it started. It worked with Iron Man 2, Captain America 1, Thor 2, etc... It WAS better than those movies. No, as soon as they heard it was a multiverse story their big hope was "Oh, bring back Jackman and have Dr Strange merge the world together!" and were mad...

    Batman: Caped Crusader (Prime Video)

It's rated TV-14, so it's aimed at high school and college-age viewers.

Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

But no role doesn't equate to fired. Fired has a specific meaning. You can lose a job without being fired. It's not semantics at all because there are different reasons behind each.

Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

...more in regards to any contracts signed or anything like that but I guess the main point of it all is that the show failed to improve it's ratings and now it's not going to get renewed. A pretty ordinary story for most tv shows. Doctor Who because of it's legacy just makes it feel different.

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

Got bad ratings though. I am not insulting the show. I liked it. It's just wasn't a hit.

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

No they didn't, they said Widow was a useless forced character in IM2. They watched it, yes. Yes, they did. But the strike meant the Marvels didn't get any promotions and barely any marketing, which is why it was vindicated later on streaming which was advertised better In the works...

    Author Habits That Annoy You

And I get the precise opposite vibe from DC's take on the scene: Archer's convinced that Phlox wants to one-up him, but they both know Chinese food is ubiquitous, especially in SF. And living one's entire life there doesn't mean he doesn't get around. I've lived in Fountain Valley, California...

The Wheel of Time - Season 3

...was that with such a massively long book series that it would actually be able to be adapted and once you saw it was struggling in terms of ratings/viewership (or what they wanted it to be) and was just overall not even 15 or 20% through the 'book story', yea... It didn't really look likely...

Would different "types" of phasers make sense?

Gyro Stabilized Gymballed Ball Turrets don't get enough love as a Beam Emitter / Weapons Platform. Being able to shoot on the move, while moving over rough / uneven terrain while stabilizing the Emitter Head is a vastly under-rated feature. We already have IRL Gyro Stabilized Gymbals for...

Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

The was some budgetary benefits from the deal with mouse but putting onto a streaming platform for those outside the U.K was probably detrimental to the viewing numbers.

    Re-Watching VOY

...how I'd rated every episode before I'd done any re-watches. Well, technically, I'd re-watched TNG at this point, but I hadn't updated my ratings yet. I'll do that when I do a TNG Re-Watch Thread eventually. April 29th, 2020 So, basically, this is my faded memory of the episodes versus my...

    Re-Watching VOY

Hey, ratings, I've got some of them: "Caretaker" - A fairly solid but unspectacular start (7) "Parallax" - The second episode of a TV series that cares about its premise (7) "Time and Again" - The third episode of a TV series that just wants to be episodic sci-fi (6) "Phage" - Has its moments...

    Re-Watching DS9

Some numbers before I eventually do the analysis of the season as a whole. DS9 Season 1 (updated 5/28/25) DS9 Season 2 DS9 Season 3 "The Search" --> 9 (counts twice) "The House of Quark" --> 10 "Equilibrium" --> 7 "Second Skin" --> 9 "The Abandoned" --> 7 "Civil Defense" --> 10 "Meridian"...

Some numbers, ahead of whenever the season analysis is: "Caretaker" --> 9 (counts twice) "Parallax" --> 8 "Time and Again" --> 6 "The Phage" --> 7 "The Cloud" --> 8 "Eye of the Needle" --> 10 "Ex Post Facto" --> 7 "Emanations" --> 7.5 "Prime Factors" --> 9 "State of Flux" --> 8 "Heroes and...

Yea at this rate. It's just so odd. Nothing against Kelli's return for what it's worth.

Spoilers Thunderbolts* grade and discussion thread

Yeah I'm with @Anwar on this. I love Batman. I also love Sam Wilson. Would you like to have an intellectual debate on this instead of swearing? It would certainly change things up a bit around here, wouldn't you say?
