I think the racism issue with the program is completely valid. You can't ignore the past. It's like ignoring the millions that were murdered because of Christianity. Of course, it doesn't necessarily reflect on the nature of Christanity today, but you can't ignore the past.

I don't agree with this at all. For one, we only got a limited view of Ferengi culture. Saying that all Ferengi are greedy opportunists is like saying all Americans are bigoted republicans. And it was illustrated in later seasons that Rom and Nog were very different from the mainstream...

It's really hard to include every important episode of DS9 in a limited list of 26. It seems like Admiral Shran really hit the spot, but if there were more slots available, some Ferengi episodes would have to make an appearance. I'm rewatching DS9 now and I just realized how much I love those...

I really like collecting vhs tapes of Star Trek episodes. I really don't know why, but I just love that format. Even though I have every season of DS9 and TNG on dvd, I still buy episodes on vhs when I find them.

If you really want original versions of the movies then buy them on vhs before they were remastered.

I just finished watching DS9 in it's entirety a few months ago and watched "Emissary" and "Explorers" the other night because of this thread.
