    TOS-era 3D printable deckplan project

Keep in mind, I tried to explain all my steps. My guides were THE MAKING OF STAR TREK, the WRITERS' GUIDE, and all we can see and hear in the episodes. I am sure Franz Joseph did the same thing. Your results may vary. It does not have to be "like Jim did" although I appreciate referring back to...

    TOS-era 3D printable deckplan project

Hey, it is great to see these deck plans, and to know they will be 3D printed too. Wow! And thank you for the callouts and the references to my plans. I am glad to read that you like my drawings. I’d like to discuss a few things: DECK 4: #1 YO is the Yeoman's Quarters. That entry is in the...

New project - TOS Enterprise 1341-foot version full interior 3D model

Yes, I could put ladders in the locations where the Enivornmental Lockers (EL) are. I think there are 6 such locations on the inner face of the outermost ring corridor. Good idea. Thank you.

New project - TOS Enterprise 1341-foot version full interior 3D model

The crawlspace is really there just to provide crosswise access to the space above the undercut. I imagine that space is used for fuel, water, air, luggage, drugs, Orion slave women, etc. At the apex, it is too narrow to allow crewmembers to pass, unless perhaps they are very very thin...

New project - TOS Enterprise 1341-foot version full interior 3D model

Yes, if the port and starboard crawlways were allowed to extend up into Deck 6, they could be sandwiched between crew quarters. Rearranging quarters means I would lose a few beds. However, I would have to add a new radial corridor to port and starboard so as to provide access to the quarters...

Please do tell. What are some of the other ways?

Speaking of Riley's laced drink ... how did Lenore get into Engineering and sneak up BEHIND Riley? I have a theory (you can see it in my blueprints) but I am curious to know if anyone has come up with explanations.

ROMULAN "Bird of Prey" from TOS

I searched through all my BoP reference material: One of the profile drawings is from Mike Chamberlain, a drawing titled "Underside and Profile." Another one is from TREKCOMIC.COM, a brown-tinted image that looks like a stats-chart-playing-card for a board game. The third is a drawing by Stephen...

ROMULAN "Bird of Prey" from TOS

Oh gosh, I don't know or remember where all those numbered profiles are from. The idea there was to note how different they all are from each other. One of them is from the FASA manual. I usually start with the FASA manuals, looking for classes of ships that appeal to me. Another one is from the...

ROMULAN "Bird of Prey" from TOS

I have not posted here for a while. Sorry. You may remember some of my other posts. I have drawn over a dozen starships blueprint sets now. I went back and updated all the sets to include top, bottom, front, and rear views. They all have more colours and better shading. They are all on my site...

New project - TOS Enterprise 1341-foot version full interior 3D model

Whose? Mine? I have no plans to draw any Refit era ships. The 17 Starfleet TOS ships I did are enough. I want to do a Romulan Bird of Prey, a Klingon D7, and maybe the Gorn ship. Oh, and maybe the K7 Space Station.

No, but what I did a few years ago was take that drawing and make a one-engined ship (not really Hermes-Class) out of it using Photoshop. This was before I learned of the MASAO-Class starship and drew it using Illustrator. All of which can be seen here: http://www.jbot.ca/space/10ma.shtml

I don't mind if you use my blueprints. Will we be able to see your work somewhere?

I have not seen your C4D ENTERPRISE or CONSTELLATION. What does "C4D" mean? I'd like to see what others have done to try to make what we see onscreen fit in the ship.

Yes, I can clearly see the width of the ship as 127.1 meters which is the same size as the ENTERPRISE from TOS.

Oh? The ENTERPRISE in SNW is 1448 feet long? Is that stated somewhere? Has anyone developed blueprints yet?

OH! I remember seeing that first comparison image on Facebook. This is your work? Outstanding! Pleased to meet you. Thanks for the entire document; I never saw any of the other images or any of the text that walks us through your process. Thank you!

... My CONSTRUCTION NOTES on the first page explain how I ended up with 1341 feet. The constant is ceilings that are 10 feet high, but the variables are the thickness of the hull and the thickness of the decks (*). I chose to make the hull and the decks the same thickness everywhere on the ship...

New project - TOS Enterprise 1341-foot version full interior 3D model

The blueprints I developed for the 1341-foot long ENTERPRISE are all done now. When Toddard started this project, I only had the Primary Hull done. You can see all the decks and all the exterior views on my site at: http://www.jbot.ca/space/1bhc.shtml Thanks again!
