I really enjoyed this episode. As was mentioned before, it has Voyager Shattered vibes. And all the crew got a chance to star - its a shame they hadn't throughout the show. But showing how they have all changed was good too.

Nothing says he didn't serve time in prison before returning back to the Enterprise. We do know he is no longer Chief Medical Officer in Kirk's time in command.

I also expected the use of one of the older vessels - because it would not be integrated into the network of other ships - but obviously there is not the budget to build (re-build) some of the older sets. The museum being the old spacedock - was definitely a bit too far on the fan service meter...

I thought the episode was fun, but hated the ending. Felt like the writers trying to write themselves out of a corner, because they didn't want to sustain the Doctor's motivation to research a cure, or could not come up with a satisfactory conclusion.

Spock is half human. That is bound to have some impact on sexual libido. Plus there is a difference between the urge and imperative, and recreational.

I had never seen that before. Just adds more interest in just how Spock and Sybok felt back then. Imagine if Sybok was inspired by Michael being human, but acting Vulcan. And then Spock being half human, but not wanting to explore that side

It could have been only the school years, before Michael was taken in, we don't know how long they were together before his "defiant" attitude emerged, and he found himself being taken away. There is an interesting story to be told there I think.

Sybok's world view was known to Spock, so at this point I do not believe they have met and talked. So throughout Strange New Worlds, Spock needs to get to know Sybok a little. We may even get to see him trying to form his cult of followers. Maybe this took a long time, if Spock actively tried...

The CGI, whilst not of the same quality as the JJ movies - is still better than what was done on Enterprise :D

The fact that a single corridor set, stands in for every corridor on a starship - means that the variations caused by set alterations could be attributed for by believing them to be different locations.

It probably would not have worked, in terms of ages - but it would have been nice if the Vulcan he interacted with was the one who stayed behind in Carbon Creek - or if the FBI agent had come from there. It would have meant less need to explain or accommodate the fact Vulcans were on Earth...
