I really like those winter shots. very moody. I especially like the one where the impulse engines are visible, to let you know it's not black and white - it's really that gloomy.
Well, they're all based, of course, on the "Jane's Reference Series" which I've read copies of from as far back as World War II (Jane's Fighting Ships of the World). A nice tip of the hat to the definitive reference, in my opinion.
Your model work is great, and your lighting and composition are fantastic. If these had turned up unlabeled, I could easily believe they were lost preproduction work.
I like it. Of course, I actually preferred the "kit-bash" the Art Department put together and animated in four days for the original show announcement.

Looks like a ship that falls design-wise somewhere between Excelsior and Enterprise-C, which seems appropriate. If the engines were shifted further back, there'd be a major similarity. It looks like another step in the design evolution, as it should.
A little bit Battlestar, a touch of FASA Nova class battleship, and all Atolm. A ship that gracefully but firmly says "Your planet's in my way, Move It!"
