I finally got to see it. It didn’t appear on Amazon until Thursday afternoon.
A few random thoughts:
What kind of unicorn dog was Relka holding? It looked like it turned into a cylinder so it must have been a computerized pet, but has anyone ever given it a name?
The next assignment of Carol...
It got a little nutty, but this cartoon always has.
I liked the Klingon-esque Curzon Dax and the confirmation that this T’Pol and Trip Tucker were married for 63 years. If you go by the books, that happened in the Prime universe as well and Trip faked his death and worked for Section 31. The...
I hadn’t been aware of these films until the other day. Quite an interesting stream of consciousness for Kirk. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. Why was Gary Mitchell there? Why was J.M. Colt there? At first I thought Kirk was simply remembering significant events and people in his life...
Discovery is my least favorite Star Trek series, but I watched it because it was Star Trek.
It had its high points. Vulcans are my favorite alien culture and I enjoyed the episodes that featured Sarek, Amanda, and Spock and a young Michael on Vulcan. I also like T’Rina and her relationship with...
I feel pretty much the same way. The Progenitors’ tech was predictable, very CGI. They didn’t really explain what it did before Burnham decided to get rid of it, which was also pretty predictable. The only way they could have surprised me would have been deciding to use the tech for the greater...
This is probably the series I want to rewatch the least. The finale is OK, but I can’t see myself rewatching it a second time. In that sense, it’s like so much of the series. I am glad they showed the wedding of Saru and T’Rina and gave Burnham a happy ending with her husband and son.
Honestly, after five seasons of nothing but the opposite, Rayner is refreshing as hell, as was Lorca. I like a blend of character types on a crew and that does not mean excluding characters like Rayner, who is also interesting as a Kellerun.
“The handsome and erudite Saru.” So sweet. I am greatly enjoying the romance between T’Rina and Saru. I like the insights into how Vulcan has been changed by Romulan culture and T’Rina’s commitment to honesty and her aide’s take on how an emotional being like Saru could be logical. I also...
The only scene where I didn’t mind Gray was the conversation with Zora in the episode where her sentience was explored, mainly because I find Zora an interesting character. . For the most part I either fast forward or zone out when both Gray and Adira ate on.
I really like Rayner. For some reason he reminds me of Trip and T’Pol’s son Lorien from the Enterprise episode E2. Whatever species he is looks Vulcan even if the ear shape is different.
I also like the union of Saru and T’Rina and hope there is an onscreen Vulcan wedding later in the season...
Exactly what I said. They were all three good actresses, all physically very attractive women, but the most recent actress to play her is becoming my favorite.
I think she’s physically a better fit as a character from an African country than Nichols, though I like all three actresses who played the character. She’s a good actress and obviously a wonderful singer.
Despite what the network claims, this is very clearly an alternate universe/timeline from...
This has probably been covered in multiple threads, but opinions evolve and the last season is approaching. I plan to watch because there’s still a lot I like and it’s Star Trek, even though there are also some things I don’t enjoy quite as much. I watch for characters, relationships, and plot...
