I have a question- In the post-credits scene, Jack unpacks a photo of Picard and Crusher in his room. You only see it for a second. They look like they’re the age of being in the TNG era- McFadden has red hair and Stewart looks younger. I can’t place it in a TNG ep though, Stewart looks like...
Picard and Beverly kissing.
Jack groans and yells something about how that is what started this whole mess to begin with.
Everyone yells, “Shut up, Jack!”
Picard says something about how he prefers to think of the future as something that isn’t written yet.
I was gonna say the same thing. Dude has his own state holiday in Illinois, not to mention counties, cities, buildings, and military ships named in his honor.
39 and watched TNG and TOS movies with my big brother when I was a kid and was hooked.
My husband is a much bigger TV/movie person than myself and likes sci-fi but never saw Trek til we were married. He watched TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT and even stuck it out longer on PIC S 1-2 than I did. He...
I really enjoyed Jack’s character at first but the “what’s wrong with Jack” thing being drug out this long is getting frustrating.
Also not a fan of him potentially being some genetically engineered super mutant something-or-other.
And if they go the route of Bev being secretly impregnated...
The Picard -Ro conversation about the events of “Preemptive Strike” was really interesting vs. the actual episode Preemptive Strike. It was one of the best episodes that season and the emotions of Picard’s disappointment and Ro’s divided loyalty and guilt about betraying Starfleet were...
I’m convinced that Jack’s story he didn’t get to finish about helping an Andorian on M’Talas Prime is some significant plot point where either he was discovered as being Picard’s son by the bad guys, or had something done to him. And at some point in future episodes, Picard will remember him...
There’s an episode of TNG where an elementary school-aged kid refers to taking calculus.
Maybe Jack went to the 24th century version of virtual school. If it exists now, I’m sure it’s still an option in the future.
FWIW she just said Jack “went to school” in London, for all we know it was nursery school, not university. It would actually make more sense to develop an accent at a young age although I doubt that’s what they were going for.
Per Beverly’s line of thinking, Jack was only going to be in danger if someone found out he was JLP’s son. Since only he and his mom knew, I would think he could show his face anywhere because no one knows who he is and it’s been so long with zero contact, no one would suspect such a thing...
I am really thankful that so far, Beverly isn’t just the vessel for producing Picard’s son and then pushed to the side. That is totally something that would have happened in 90s trek.
I’m sure the JLP/Jack relationship will continue to be a focus but I hope she continues have a strong role and...
Fwiw re: Jack Crusher the Younger’s age, he was supposed to be born post-Nemesis and Terry M basically admitted in an interview that the timing doesn’t work for him to be23-24, but that this was the story he wanted to tell so get over it (paraphrasing my recollection of his words, not mine)
Yes but did Beverly know what he saw in the nexus and that he longed for a family? Maybe she only knew what he told her, which, according to this ep, was that he never ever wanted children. Being pregnant by someone who told you they don’t want children would be pretty upsetting.
Also, she...
Dana Scully in the last episode of season 11.
IMO can’t beat that for worst surprise pregnancy storyline. Maybe that’s why I don’t completely hate the Jack storyline, because my other favorite 90s show reboot did it much worse . At least I can pretend it was undetected metaphasic planetary...
That’s pretty much what Terry M says in this interview. That this is the story he wanted to tell and stop nitpicking and we should just accept it.
