How do the Vulcans that landed in 20 centuary earth suddenly have acces to transporter technology? Ist that technology supposed to emerge much later? Or are they time travelers as well?
How can they put Poke, a capable strong straight white man back in the lead and not strong woman? Something tells me that they going to divert expectations somehow, like by meeting his lost child who is looking for his mother, which turn out to be pike who was lesbian woman in the past but...
Well the Technobable was something that I could appreciate, as it at least did some efford to be grounded in science, but Q could does stuff tha couldn't even be described with technobable, bordering on pure magic / godlike miracles, which always seemed very lazy writing to me.
I feel the same way. truth be told I never liked any startrek episodes in which Q just made stuff happen without any plausible way to understand it. It feels like the writers are just making stuff up without any grounding in reality. It mend anything could happen without any logic at any time. I...
I'm ok with the El-Aurian beeing able to call Q, which I find baffling is that it requires a a unique bottle which just happens to be in arm reach like she was expecting she had to use it one day.
spare me your judgement, I just found it insulting how the series writers tries to come up with a contrived method of calling a Q which seemed like it belonged to a poldergeist movie rather than StarTrek episode, breaking all immersion.
Oh, in case anyone is wondering, I'm the same FreeThinker that worked on KSP Interstellar Extended, the KSP which includes FTL drives and atimatter drives.
I'm not realy a hard core StarTrek fan that has ranked every episode, rather someone that used to love to watch every StarTrek episode when aired on television. Mainly Next Generation, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprize. Memorable episodes were Blink of an Eye, Little Green Men and Endgame. I was never...
You kind of sound like a religious person that does not want to tempt his fate with negative views. You rather stay ignorant than to be informed and become negative.
Well, It is mostly wishfull yes, requiring every writer to see every episodes is probably asking too much, but for 8 million dollar per episodes they could at least have hired a consultant who does know all of Startrek, who could have helped the writers keep the script a least mostly consistent...
I think in the future , they should institute some certification program for Star Trek writers. As a start, all writer have to watch all Star Trek series and movies which is tested by an strict exam, secondly, the episodes they write need to be peer reviewed by at least 2 writers with proven...
Perhaps not from an objective point but for me its kind of the straw that broke the camel back after the series of not so great episodes. Usualy its a mix of good and bad but lately it seems the last Pickard episodes manage to create a sequence of bad episodes while it started so promising.
I genuinely want to understand why anyone would rate this episode as a 10, 9 or 8. For me it was the worst episode ever. It seemed more like the writers were intentionally trolling the fans, just to piss them off, of make fun of their interests
When they first suggested they would travel back to 2024, an US election year, I feared they would correlate a freak accident during US presidency election would cause the wrong man to be elected that would eventually lead to the fascist Space Empire of the future instead of the multi species...
Alright, I'm willing to give the series a lot of "creative license" but when the magic botle to summon Q was used, something died in me. It seems to me its intention was to insult the startrek viewer for his silly love of sci fi where anything can happen.
