Picard features some of their most popular characters. I'm just saying you're probably not getting films about random one off characters from days gone by, hence my comment about not getting to niche you didn't bother to quote.
Do we care if Ira approves? I'm not trying to be a dick about it or dunk on Ira, just kinda curious. Personally, I'm not a purist about the original intent behind Section 31. I'm fine with letting the concept change with the times.
It's a big franchise with a lot of moving parts. Drop by when you're interested and move on to something else when you're not. It's not complicated. Most of us are adults and presumably have other things going on in our lives in the meantime.
This is what I'm thinking. There are so many cool ideas that don't have a five year series in them or a actor/legacy actor who doesn't want a multi season commitment. But now they might have a possible home
Still can't get too niche. They can't make films exclusively for the die hards, but...
I actually misread the question. I thought the question was if she was alive by the time of Picard season 3. I never assumed she passed away right after Shades of Grey. That would get a passing mention somewhere.
Well that was vague.
Still feel Trek is slowing down for the next year or so. But I'm optimistic we will get one new live action series officially announced by Star Trek Day.
Yes. I watched as much of the series as I could when it aired. I've watched the entire series on DVD and again on Netflix. Still one of my favorite Treks.
I had issues with the finale, but I think it was overly panned.
Terry Matalas shot down my Tom Riker theory. I also guessed the Suliban would be the villains.

I stand before you, all wrong in my wrongness. Of all those who have been wrong in my travels, I have been wrong the most.
Eh..... I...
Discovery was about the power of emotion. They had that power manifest itself literally in that case.
I admit that creative decision could be considered an acquired taste.
Yep, the Rigel thing. And his special guest star credit runs of the "condition red" image.
He's avoiding people Wil has a history with so he won't blow his cover.
He doesn't want Deanna around.
He picks the Titan for his ruse. A place where the only old friend they can work is Seven...
At last, someone else caught on. I've been hinting that Riker is really Tom for a few day now, waiting for someone to bite.
He's been acting odd and there are a few clues that suggest he's not Will. I think the Flashback in episode 3 is the only time we've seen the one true Will Riker this...
They're definitely stretching out what they have. They aren't renewing anything or announcing new shows at the moment. Star Trek isn't going away but it looks like they are taking a pause while they figure out what do next. That might even be a good thing, in the long run.
Strange New Worlds...
It does make me more optimistic that they won't just cut it off at a weird moment. Even Enterprise got to go out on a sentimental note (such as it was).
